President Biden slams Donald Trump for mocking Nikki Haley's military husband

Washington, DC: After facing continued attacks from Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, President Joe Biden hit back at him for mocking the husband of party candidate Nikki Haley. Biden stated that Trump believes the country's troops are “suckers,” adding, “This man wouldn't be serving his country if it punched him in the face.” President Biden turned to X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, “The answer is Major Haley is overseas currently serving his country. We know he thinks our troops are 'suckers,' but this man would no longer be able to serve his country if it hit him in the face.”

The US president's statement came mainly in response to the recent statement Trump made during a rally on Saturday. “Where is her husband (Nikki Haley)?” Trump said, adding, “Oh, he's gone, he's gone.” What happened to her husband? What happened to her husband? Where is he? He’s gone,” he added, according to The Hill.

Maj. Michael Haley, Nikki Haley's husband, deployed to Africa with the South Carolina Army National Guard in June 2023. She said goodbye to him at a ceremony held in mid-June and attended by about 200 soldiers at The Citadel, a military college in Charleston.
Previously, Nikki Haley criticized Trump for comments he made about her husband, who serves in the military and is currently stationed overseas, as reported by The Hill.

“Michael is being deployed to serve our country, something you know nothing about,” Haley wrote on ”
“He's always been my rock,” Haley said.

“We have both lived lives of service, and so when he leaves, I am completely with him. If I run for president, his support is fully with me,” she added.

Haley and her husband have been together for more than 25 years, and he regularly attended her candidacy meetings. The former UN ambassador often talked about his marriage to a member of the armed forces; her husband joined the National Guard in the mid-2000s, The Hill reported.
During Haley's first stint as governor of the Palmetto State, he was initially sent overseas.
