Queen Letizia of Spain opted for business chic with a touch of glamor as she took to the stage today as chair of a medical research forum.

The queen, 51, wore a red tweed jacket with gold buttons, paired with black trousers, as she walked on stage to open the forum.

The mother-of-two also wore black patent leather slingback kitten heels to complete her outfit.

Her brunette locks were styled in a straight, sleek cut to frame her face, and she opted for neutral makeup for the occasion.

The forum, organized by the Fundación Mutua Madrileña, supports four main objectives: promoting medical research, carrying out social and cultural projects and promoting road safety among young people.

Letizia presented herself very elegantly in a black fine-knit sweater with long sleeves, which she complemented with custom-made green Hugo Boss trousers.

The mother-of-two looked fresh and trendy as she showed off her recent haircut and swapped her usual heels for a comfortable pair of loafers, also from Hugo Boss.

The high-waisted trousers were embellished with green gusseted pockets and flattered her frame, while an added black belt also highlighted her stunning figure.

The Spanish queen kept her look very simple and sober, without visible jewelry, but opted for radiant make-up.

Meanwhile, her husband King Felipe VI, 56, appeared in good spirits and joined Letizia to greet the disabled champions.

He also opted for a formal look and paired his gray pinstripe suit with a peach-colored tie.
