The saffron party immediately wrote to the Election Commission stating that Gandhi’s post violated the 48-hour silence period during which any form of campaigning or promotion is barred. The party further accused him of violating the Representation of the People Act and the Model Code of Conduct and sought action from the EC.
“The social media platform elections. ” it said.
The BJP stated that the Election Commission should also direct the Chief Election Officer of Rajasthan to file a criminal complaint and initiate criminal proceedings against Gandhi.
