Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha: India's premier medical establishment, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi, on Saturday issued a circular statement saying that the institute will remain closed till 2:30 PM on January 22 in the wake of the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha/Ram Temple Consecration Ceremony in Ayodhya.

“The Government of India has imposed a half-day closure on Monday, January 22, 2024, until 2:30 PM. See OM ref: F.No. 12/7/2023 – JCA, DoPT dated January 18, 2024, while Ram Lalla Pran Pratishtha will be celebrated in Ayodhya across India. For the information of all employees, it is informed that the institute will remain closed for half a day until 2:30 PM on 22.01.2024. All Center Heads, Heads of Departments, Units and Department Officers are requested to bring this to the attention of all staff working under them. However, as AIIMS New Delhi is on high alert for a period of one month till 21.02.2024, vide reference: No. F.9/VVIP/2024-Estt(H), DGHS, Emergency Medical Relief (EMR) dated 09.02 .2024. By 2024, all critical clinical services will remain functional,” the AIIMS said in a circular.

Besides AIIMS in New Delhi, Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital (RML) has also announced a half-day holiday on January 22. It is to be noted that the Center has announced that all central government offices will be closed for half a day on January 22.

However, both hospitals have made it clear that their emergency and critical services will remain operational.

Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena on Saturday approved an official order for a half-day holiday for all government offices in the national capital on January 22.

The LG on January 22 approved a half-day holiday for all government offices, civic bodies and other undertakings in Delhi on account of the consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh. Raj Niwas officials said the order was issued by the Chief Minister of Delhi. Arvind Kejriwal, according to which all government offices in the national capital will remain closed till 2.30 pm on January 22.

Ayodhya is all set for the grand inauguration ceremony of Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha rituals and extensive security deployments and arrangements have also been made across the city.
