Reality star Irene Major has announced that she has given birth to her ninth baby with her husband, an oil tycoon, and teased that she could expand their family even further.

The British-Cameroonian model, 43, married Canadian businessman Sam Malin in 1998 and the couple live in Ingress Abbey – a sprawling 19th-century mansion in Kent.

In an exclusive conversation with FEMAIL, the mother of nine – who modeled nude for Playboy during her last pregnancy – revealed that she welcomed her son Oscar 10 weeks ago.

Irene said her son’s name – a nod to Hollywood – was an obvious choice for her this time.

She joked, “Since they didn’t give me the Oscar I deserve, I gave myself one!”

Following in the footsteps of Meghan Markle and Princess Eugenie, Irene decided to give birth at London’s exclusive Portland Hospital.

Portland childbirth packages start from £15,000 and can go up to £20,000.

The staff offers 24-hour room service in their lavish work suites, complete with Molton Brown toiletries and four-poster beds.

New parents are offered a meal to celebrate the safe delivery of their child, with a menu that includes options for lobster, oysters, foie gras, champagne and afternoon tea – all served on silver platters.

‘I call [the Portland] my mini spa,” said the former X Factor star. “I check in like I’m going to the spa!”

Despite now having a family the size of a football team, Irene – who previously appeared on Channel 5’s Billionaire Babies – insisted she didn’t feel the slightest bit overwhelmed when she was expecting Oscar.

Irene said, “The whole pregnancy was pure excitement.”

‘When I went to the hospital to give birth, it was vacation so all the kids were home.’

Irene, who is one of nine children herself, is delighted to have four girls and five boys, just like her mother.

Irene and Sam’s oldest child, Samantha, is now 23, while their second, Lulu-Marie, is 15. A third daughter, Pearl, followed, who is now 13.

Lincoln, age 11, is the first boy, followed by Mona-Swan, eight. Noah, the couple’s sixth child, is five, while Mason is three. Jordan came next and finally Oscar.

She continued, “Growing up in a big family there will be some people who will be put off, but for me it has always been an inspiration.

‘Not that I wanted to do it exactly the same way, but I think it’s special to have nine children like my mother. In a way, she passed the baton.”

Plus, Irene didn’t hesitate when asked what her favorite thing about having so many kids is.

She continued, “The joy, the noise. I like being around all these innocent souls. I learn so much from my children.

And then there are the birthdays. There is something to celebrate almost every month, if you count our birthdays too.’

Despite only welcoming Oscar 10 weeks ago, Irene is not ruling out having more children in the future.

“They’re all a miracle,” she says. “They are all given by the Almighty and He decides. He will send a voice.’

Known for their lavish lifestyle, the Malins call themselves Lord and Lady Hailes, after a £250,000 ruined Scottish castle called Hailes they bought in 2008 came with a feudal barony.

Irene – who calls herself Queen of Ingress on Instagram – has appeared in several Channel 5 reality series, including Billionaire Babies, and said she is proud to represent her home continent and “African beauty.”

Before Covid, Irene – who was crowned Miss Lions Cameroon in 1995 – and her Canadian geological engineer husband enjoyed extravagant date nights, once hiring a private jet to Paris for £1,500, sipping champagne all the way, going shopping and enjoying a luxurious dinner.

The couple, who met while Sam was on a business trip to Irene’s home country of Cameroon, spent much of the pandemic at Ingress Abbey – which they reportedly bought for £1.6million in 2012 and spent double that on its renovation.

Irene said, “We are very focused on home. No travel. All eight children have been home for much of the pandemic and we have had no help with home repairs or anything.”

Dating back to 1833, the Gothic Revival mansion was built on the site of a 14th-century manor house owned by Princess Madeline Devis.

Irene admitted she was happy with just one child — hence the seven-year age gap between her first daughter Samantha, 21, and her second, Lulu-Marie, 13.

“But then more kept coming and it was so easy with the kids playing together and we got into scalable routines,” she said.

She became the first black woman from the African continent to appear on the front of Playboy Czech Republic on her 30th birthday.

Speaking about her enviable figure after having eight children, Irene said she sets herself the goal of getting back into her favorite pre-pregnancy clothes within six months of giving birth.

Irene is also a former X Factor contestant; she forged a pop career with her sister Elsa and founded the group Major in 2012. She auditioned for the ITV talent show in 2014 and progressed to the six-chair challenge, with Louis Walsh as her mentor.

Irene previously caused controversy when she admitted to lightening her skin. She told the Daily Mail in 2014, “A skin-lightening regimen has been part of my life practically since I was born.

‘There are many different types of African skin – from dark charcoal to a lighter version – and you grow up knowing that the lighter ladies are the most beautiful. It’s just a fact.’

She made headlines again in 2018 when she took off her wig on This Morning while defending her decision to lighten her skin.

During a debate with TV presenter AJ Odudu, who challenged her reasons for wanting pale skin, she snapped that she shouldn’t listen to someone with “fake hair” tell her what she should look like — before she suddenly own hair removed.

She exclaimed, “You are a Nigerian, aren’t you? Take off your wig, let’s show them Africa!’
