Rebecca Ferguson slams ‘idiot’ costar who ‘yelled’ at her on set

Rebecca Ferguson slams her “absolute idiot” of a former costar without naming names.

While promoting Dune: part twoFerguson, 40, appeared on the ‘Reigning with Josh Smith’ podcast and was asked about her “proudest” moment of speaking out.

“This human was so insecure and angry because this person couldn’t get the scenes out,” she recalled during the episode, which was released on Tuesday, February 27. “And I think I was so vulnerable and uncomfortable that I yelled at it.”

Ferguson went on to say that her costar was “No.” 1 on a call sheet,” so no one came to her defense.

“I would cry when I left the set,” she continued, explaining that the actor would say things along the lines of, “Do you call yourself an actor?” and “This is what I have to work with?” for the cast and crew.

“I remember walking on the next day and saying, ‘Get off my set,’” Ferguson continued. “I remember being so scared and looking at this person and saying, ‘You can leave.’ I’m going to work towards a tennis ball. I never want to see you again. ”

When the producers said the person needed to be on set, Ferguson doubled down and acted on the back of his mind.

“From that point on, I never let myself get to a point where I came home and thought, ‘Why did that happen?’” she concluded.

After the podcast clip went viral, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson quickly came to Ferguson’s defense. (Johnson and Ferguson both played in 2014 Hercules.)

“I hate to see this, but I love seeing her stand up to the bulls. Rebecca was my guardian angel sent from heaven onto our set,” Johnson, 51, shared via X on Wednesday, February 28. “I love that woman. I would like to know who did this.”

Fans on Tom Cruise‘s name as a possibility. However, Ferguson has previously praised her experience working with Cruise, 61 Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, Mission: Impossible – Fallout And Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning part one.

“He expects the best from everyone. That’s probably the only thing I really took with me. If you can’t make it happen, that’s fine, you always look for other solutions,” Ferguson said Radio times in December 2023. “But he’s the first one on set and the last one out. If you ask for everyone to be the best they can be, you have to make that happen for yourself too. And he does that too.”
