PK Kemsley suggests that “elements” of woman Dorit Kemsley‘s PTSD are more ‘unpleasant’ than worrying.
“There are elements that I understand, there are also elements that I do not consider to be PTSD. I don’t do that,” he stated during the Wednesday, January 10, episode The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. “The reality is: When does high maintenance go hand in hand with PTSD?”
Dorit, 47, and PK, 56, had a joint therapy session this week RHOBH to address the Beverly Beach founder’s ongoing PTSD following their 2021 home invasion.
“My biggest problem was that I really needed PK after the break-in and he was traveling all the time,” Dorit admitted in her confessional. ‘He wasn’t there for me. Not physically and not emotionally, actually. The passes, the patience, they are now gone. It’s time for him to show himself.”
In October 2021, PK was on a business trip in London when Dorit was robbed at gunpoint while they were at home with their two children, son Jagger, 9, and daughter Phoenix, 7. “Three male suspects took an unknown amount of property,” de Los said Angeles Police Department told We weekly at the time. Dorit revealed in 2022 that the robbers were never caught.
“I feel like you don’t fully understand the severity of the PTSD for me and largely partly the element of surprise,” Dorit told PK during Wednesday’s episode. “I’m trying to tell you and you just got really defensive.”
PK responded, “Does PTSD require you to discuss it there and then? Is that PTSD?”
The couple had an argument about their anniversary, which was shown earlier this season. To celebrate this, PK planned one Beautiful lady-theme-date. Because she was not involved in the plan from the beginning, Dorit explained that surprises can cause her great “anxiety.”
During his confessional, PK said that Dorit has since become more “maintenance demanding” in their relationship over the years.
After their back and forth, PK became emotional during his therapy session with Dorit.
‘I don’t know why you would think I wouldn’t want to understand [PTSD]. It is useful for both me and you. But you have to give me a chance to understand and you also have to try to say it a little calmer and a little less irritated,” PK said. “I’m not trying to annoy you, I’m trying to understand you.”
He added: “It’s very difficult when you love someone to listen to the amount of pain you’re in.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs on Bravo Wednesdays at 8pm ET.
