Richmond star Marlion Pickett arrested in Perth on burglary and robbery charges with two-time AFL premiership winner due in court on Monday

Richmond star Marlion Pickett was arrested in Perth on Sunday on alleged charges of aggravated burglary, robbery and criminal damage.

According to a statement from Richmond, the alleged crimes allegedly took place in Western Australia between December last year and January.

The 31-year-old is due to appear in court in Perth on Monday.

“Richmond Football Club player Marlion Pickett has been remanded in custody for alleged burglary and will attend Perth Magistrates Court tomorrow for a bail hearing,” the statement said.

The alleged crimes took place between December 2022 and January 2023.

“The club will continue to support Marlion and his family as these matters are resolved.

“As this matter is now before the courts, the club will not be commenting further.”

Pickett’s manager, Anthony Van Der Wielen, told Seven News that his client has a “strong intent” to defend himself against the allegations.

“We understand and respect the public interest in this case, but we also urge everyone to respect the presumption of innocence until proven guilty, and to allow legal proceedings to continue unabated,” Van Der said. Wheels in a statement.
