Rishabh Pant to OPEN? DC Captain’s cryptic post ahead of IPL 2024 goes VIRAL

Delhi: There has been a lot of buzz surrounding Rishabh Pant ahead of the IPL season as he is set to make a comeback to competitive cricket after 14 months. He is ready to lead the Delhi Capitals and there is a lot of buzz around him. Late last night, Pant, who has already joined the DC camp in Vizag, came up with a cryptic tweet that has sent fans into speculation mode. Pant teased fans by claiming that something special is coming soon. “There will be a surprise for all of you soon” Pant’s tweet read.

I’m excited and nervous at the same time. I feel like I’m making my debut again,” Pant said in the Delhi Capitals press release.

“To be able to play cricket again after everything I’ve been through is nothing short of a miracle. I am grateful to all my well-wishers and fans and most importantly to the BCCI and NCA staff. All their love and support still gives me enormous strength.”

The 26-year-old has been out of cricket since 2022 when he met with an accident while driving home from New Delhi.

Pant missed the 2023 season of the Indian Premier League and in his absence, Delhi even failed to qualify for the play-offs.

Delhi Capitals shared a clip of Rishabh Pant wearing the team jersey and hitting the bowlers into nets.

DC will look to improve on their performance from last season after finishing in ninth place with 10 points. They recorded five wins and lost nine games with a negative run rate of 0.808.

Pant has been representing DC since 2016 and has scored 2,838 runs in 98 matches at an average of 34.61 and a strike rate of over 147, with a century and 15 fifties to his name.
