Rob McElhenney has shared a new photo of himself with a smiling Prince Harry as the pair attended a football match between David Beckham’s Inter Miami CF and Los Angeles without Meghan Markle.

The beaming Wrexham co-owner poses for the selfie in a bar alongside his It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia co-star Glenn Howerton, 47, and a grinning Duke of Sussex.

Harry is seen in a stylish dark shirt, jacket and jeans, while McElhenney, 46, wears a black and white striped shirt.

Howerton, dressed in a black polo shirt, appears to be almost identical to Harry, 39’s, outfit.

In a heartwarming post on Instagram, McElhenney said: ‘Other than that mild allergic reaction to the nuts, 2023 has been one of the best years of my life.

“Thank you to the people and places that made this possible. Thanks to you, my life is full of love and joy. I’m so excited for 2024. I’m staying away from the nuts.’

The trio were in high spirits as they watched Lionel Messi help Beckham’s Inter Miami to a 3-1 win in September.

Howerton shared a photo of the trio on his 847,000 Instagram at the time, writing: ‘Great to see Harry and some of my favorite club owners Bill and Bob last night at @lafc v. @intermiamicf. Watching @leomessi play live: wow.’

Actor McElhenney posted the photo on New Year’s Eve as part of a selection of throwback photos of his 2023 highlights.

Other photos that formed part of the film included McElhenney meeting King Charles and Queen Camilla when the royals visited Wrexham’s Racecourse Ground in December.

Last month it was announced that Rob’s hit show Welcome to Wrexham had been officially renewed for a third series.

Disney+ has announced that the Emmy-nominated hit docuseries will return for series three in spring 2024.

The series follows the efforts of Hollywood stars Rob and Ryan Reynolds to return Wrexham AFC to glory.

Since the duo took over as co-chairmen, the club has moved from the fifth tier of the National League to League Two in the Football League.

Nick Grad, president of FX Entertainment, said: ‘The wild global success of ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ is a testament to the courage and vision of Rob and Ryan, the tenacious spirit of the Red Dragons, and the hope and dedication of its people from Wrexham.

‘It is a story that is only just being told and that everyone can continue to follow in the third season.

“Our thanks go to the creative team who captured these exciting moments and everyone who achieved what only a short time ago seemed impossible.”

Deadpool actor Ryan, 47, and It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia star Rob, 46, teamed up to buy the football team in 2021 after the Welsh club went bankrupt.

Wrexham is the third oldest professional football club in the world, but has not been in the Football League for more than 15 years.
