Salaar: CeaseFire gets a certificate from the censor board, will this help Dunki at the box office?
Prabhas’ starrer Salaar: Ceasefire will be an A-rated film as the Censor Board approves it with an adult certificate. Will this help Shah Rukh Khan’d Dunki at the Box Office in the longer run? Here’s the analysis.
Dunki vs Salaar Box Office: Salaar: Armistice which hits the screens as the big Christmas release, has been approved by the Central Board of Film Certification. The Prabhas starrer became the third major commercial film of the following year Thank you for coming And Oh my God to have received the ‘Adults Only’ rating from CBFC. Directed by KGF fame Prashanth Neel, Salaar has a recorded running time of two hours and 55 minutes.
Salaar: CeaseFire to NOT attract family audiences to theaters
While this is exciting news for fans, the A rating might just help Dunki at the Box Office. The Shah Rukh Khan starrer clashes with Salaar: Armistice on December 22 and has received a U/A certificate. Since it is holidays and more families go to the cinema to enjoy movies, Salaar could take a backseat to the foreground. However, it can also benefit from the fact that Salaar appeals to a niche segment of the masses that enjoy action and violence on screen. The film is already targeting the South Indian audience to garner top collections from the Telugu market.
Salaar: Ceasfire – Advance booking is strong
Salaar is being released worldwide in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam and its advance booking in the overseas market is quite impressive. The film’s trailer promised a different world with melodrama, action, mystery and lots of violence. This is Prabhas’ first appearance after the debacle of Adipurush and the film must work to re-establish its position as a legitimate Box Office superstar.

Meanwhile, it seems like a hat-trick at the Box Office for Shah Rukh Khan. Dunki is receiving positive reviews at the Box Office with the trailer and the fact that it is a light-hearted comedy drama could attract all age groups to the theaters, which will benefit the film in its overall box office. SRK’s goodwill culminates with the successive successes of Pathan And Jawan and now, Dunki is expected to achieve the same success. Add to that director Rajkumar Hirani’s 100 percent success meter and you might have a clear winner at the Box Office this Christmas.
