SAM JOHNSTONE could be tempted by a last-minute £15million move from Crystal Palace to Nottingham Forest to boost his Euro 2024 hopes.

Air sports claim Forest have reopened talks with their Premier League rivals over the England goalkeeper ahead of Thursday's transfer deadline.

Johnstone, 30, is struggling to oust ex-Manchester United stopper Dean Henderson as the Eagles' number one.

And while it is clear he remains happy at Selhurst Park, he wants more regular football to keep his place in the Three Lions squad.

Henderson replaced Johnstone after the former West Brom stopper was injured last month.

Both goalkeepers are now fit, but the 26-year-old has kept the shirt for the last six Premier League games.

Palace are keen to keep Johnstone, whose contract runs until 2027.

But Sky Sports suggests an offer of £12 million to £15 million could be attractive.

However, Forest's spending power is limited due to their financial problems.

And an acceptable offer for Johnstone might be beyond them unless they sell £20million-rated midfielder Orel Mangala, a reported target for Napoli.

It was also said that wolves were watching Johnstone in December.

That's partly because they feared losing Portuguese goalkeeper Jose Sa.

But the ex-Porto and Olympiacos man, 31, remained at Molineux.
