Shameik Moore reacts to losing the 2024 Oscars for ‘Across the Spider-Verse’

“Respect to the winners,” Moore, 28, wrote via X on Sunday March 10. “It’s true, I’m definitely a sore loser, but we didn’t lose, Spider verse has impacted MANY lives, we may not have been acknowledged tonight, but life goes on, and CONTINUE…yes, get ready.

One fan pointed out That About the Spider-Verse co-writer and producer Christopher Molenaar reacted positively to the loss when he posted, “Well, if you’re going to lose, you might as well lose to the GOAT.”
Moore then quoted the fan’s comment and asked for forgiveness.
“Honestly, the whole thing Spider verse team are such good sports,” he says wrote. “Very professional and I’m curious to see what comes of this. I’m young and a fighter, so forgive my nature. Congratulations to the winners.”
After attending the 96th Academy Awards, followed by the Vanity fair Oscars Party, Moore took to social media once again to share a cryptic message.
“Everyone keeps telling me how my story should go,” he says wrote to his followers on Monday, March 11. “NAH IMMA DO MY OWN THING.”
Moore played the role of Miles Morales for the first time Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The first film in the franchise won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature in 2019.
The sequel of the movie About the Spider-Verse was released in 2023 and subsequently told the story of Miles’ journey through the multiverse, where he encountered a team of Spider-People tasked with protecting its existence.
Although the film did not win an Oscar, it received critical acclaim and other awards, including Best Animated Feature at the Producers Guild of America awards on February 25.
The franchise is expected to continue with an animated threequel already in the works.

Regardless of how many films the franchise may produce, Moore said he is forever grateful for the opportunity to be the voice of Miles.
