In 1987, a rising 16-year-old girl from Long Island, New York hit the skies with her debut pop album, which became a huge hit around the world, going five times platinum and spawning five hit singles. .

Her second album two years later, Electric Youth, was also a big hit, giving way to three hit singles, including the chart-topping Lost in Your Eyes – which spent three weeks at No. 1.

The performer then transitioned to Broadway in musicals such as Beauty And The Beast and in various television roles in the '90s and beyond.

There were also her roles in Sharknado-style B-movies Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus, Mega Python vs. Gatoroid and Mega Shark vs. Mecha Shark, in 2009, 2011 and 2014 respectively.

She also appeared in the TV series Lucifer, in a musical episode.

And she dated stars like Lorenzo Lamas and Ryan Seacrest.

This comes after she shared a piece of advice she would tell herself at a younger age if given the chance.

“Always trust your instincts,” the Shake Your Love singer shared as her second piece of advice.

And finally, Debbie mentioned the importance of truthfulness in life.

“Don't cheat on Pictionary,” she joked. “You know you're a bad liar and will end up confessing and ruining it for the whole team!”
