A New York mom was shocked when she turned on her nanny camera on Monday to see a trusted family friend reportedly slap her two-year-old son on the back more than 25 times.

Kristla Holmes said she was at work on Monday when she kept getting motion-detection alerts from the Ring security camera she set up in her living room.

When she opened the app, she told CBS newsshe saw her babysitter, Chantal Mason, wrap her young son in a blanket and supposedly slap him on the back as he cried out.

At other times, she said, Mason was seen lying on the couch with her foot on the child’s head while the toddler remained under the blanket.

Mason has now been charged with endangering a child’s welfare.

According to the indictment against Mason, who had been a family friend of Holmes’s for 15 years and had watched the child in the past, she was seen on security footage yelling at the toddler as she punched him multiple times.

“Hush,” Mason was heard to say. “Put your a** down and go to sleep.”

A short clip of the footage posted to Twitter shows the young boy lying on his back on the couch, with Mason sitting next to him.

She says, “Why don’t you listen – lie down,” as she violently flips the toddler over, causing the baby to land hard on its stomach.

The child could then be heard crying as he bobbed up and down through the force of being pushed down violently.

At that point, the complaint has been obtained by Law and crime says, Mason covered the child in a blanket and began to beat him repeatedly.

Holmes also claimed that Mason was later seen with her foot on her son’s head as she lay on the family couch.

“You can see her foot on his head, on his ass, just lounging on my couch,” the stunned mom told CBS News, with a screengrab of Mason relaxing as the child is apparently left under the blanket.

Fortunately, the boy suffered only minor bruises.

Holmes said Mason told her that her son had just woken up, that she had fed him and that the two were sitting on the couch watching TV when she started getting motion-detection alerts Monday afternoon.

“So when I checked the camera, that’s not what he was doing. He was crying hysterically,’ Holmes said.

She then hurried home and called the police, who promptly arrested Mason.

“She deserves to be in prison,” Holmes said. “I want her in jail.”

The mother says she now fears what would have happened had she not set up cameras at her home, saying she is speaking out to warn other parents.

“You can’t trust anyone,” she said. “You can’t trust your children’s godparents, you can’t trust a long friend, you can’t trust anyone.

“Look after your own children,” she insisted, “protect your own children.”
