A show jumper left her audience in awe when her horse cleared three obstacles when her bridle came loose during a competition.
Somerset rider Harriet Biddick was competing in the British Speed Derby at Hickstead last week on her horse Silver Lift when their bridle came loose halfway through the obstacle course.
Amazingly, her steadfast mount kept her focus on the track and managed to jump three fences with very little instruction from Harriet.
Unfortunately, Silver Lift galloped after the last spread and her rider had to admit defeat.
While she didn’t take home the award, Harriet’s performance received a lot of praise online, where the clip of her and Silver Lift’s performance went viral, with many applauding the jumping duo’s incredible technique.

Harriet, who has already won the Speed Derby three times, was this year’s defending champion and took the title home in 2022.
It looked like she was on her way to adding a fourth win to her belt when the bridle malfunctioned.
In the clip, which has been viewed more than 26 million times on Facebook and Instagram, the camera captures the moment when Silver Lift’s bridle comes off and passes over the horse’s eyes as the rider pulls her into place.
Without skipping a beat, the horse makes its way through the next three hurdles, skilfully jumping over each spread.
Meanwhile, Harriet, who is married to jockey Will Biddick and is one of Britain’s top female horse riders, kept her calm throughout the incident, apparently unphased that the bridle had come loose.
Unfortunately for the rider, her mount eventually galloped past the final obstacle, the rider raising her hands and shrugging in defeat.
The rider was showered with praise after the clip featuring the bridle incident was shared online.
The video was uploaded to Facebook by The All England Jumping Course, Hickstead, who called Harriet’s performance ‘superb bit of horsemanship’.

People couldn’t believe how effortlessly Silver Lift managed to jump through the three fences with minimal guidance from Harriet.
‘Nice! It just proves that with the right training and confidence you don’t need hard stuff and gadgets to get the job done,” said one.
“Great that the horse didn’t even react when the bridle went over his eyes and ears like that.
“And the rider also just says ‘oh. Better strap that on and keep going,'” said another.
‘So calm. So collected. So well ridden,” one wrote.
She said “wait!” and he said, “I see my stepmother, I’m going for it!” The bridle comes off… ‘See, I told you I got this!’ someone joked.
A real horseman. You see far too many riders hanging from their horse’s mouth for balance. “Brilliant,” said one.
“She made it look absolutely effortless, like they were just doing a little two-foot jump. Kudos to this AMAZING TEAM,” one commented.
