Jeff Stelling had to call the police after 'bastards' cut open his car

JEFF STELING raged on Twitter after his car was vandalized in Chesterfield.

The talkSPORT presenter is on tour through Great Britain and has already visited several towns and cities with his 'An Evening with Jeff Stelling', including Liverpool and Southampton.

Stelling, 68, spent Sunday evening in Chesterfield but ended his show when his car was vandalized.

One of the doors was cut open, leaving a huge gash that destroyed the bodywork.

Stelling revealed that he had contacted police about the case, while also using social media to shoot down the perpetrators.

He wrote: “Thank you Chesterfield. Anyone who knows the assholes who did this to my car while I was trying to entertain people, please let me know.

“What the hell happened to people.”

Some of Stelling's followers expressed sympathy or tried to help, while others made jokes at his expense.

A frustrated Stelling responded to those comments, adding, “You know what. That's almost as depressing as cutting open a car.”

Shocked all of Sky Sports at the end of last season when he revealed that working on football Saturdays made him ill.

The former TV presenter says he became too 'tired' and 'stressed' to go out with his wife and family on Saturday evening.

He said after quitting: “I had the most fantastic run of the show.

“But the show went in one direction, which meant it wasn't quite the same.

“Even though I had been there for a long time, I felt like some of my views were not being taken into account at all. Every week I was fighting a battle. I got tired of fighting and it made me sick.

“Eventually I went to Sky management and said, 'This makes me feel unwell. I have to walk away from it.'”
