WITH her hourglass figure, razor-sharp cheekbones and captivating confidence, actress Sofia Vergara is used to turning heads wherever she goes.
And while it's usually her talent and undeniable beauty that turn heads, it was her dramatic make-under transformation in the role of Colombian “Cocaine Godmother” Griselda Blanco that recently got everyone talking.
The Modern Family star, 51, spent 'hours' in the make-up chair to become the drug kingpin, looking worlds apart in the hit Netflix series.
Sofia – who was recently spotted on dates with orthopedic surgeon Justin Saliman – also recently hit back after she was constantly confronted with comments that she had undergone plastic surgery, telling Glamour: “I read it and it says, 'She's done so many things to herself that she doesn't even look like her anymore.'
“I always want to say, 'No, it's called getting older! It's called f***ing, I'm old! That's why I look different!'

Rhinoplasty and cosmetic surgeon Onur Gilleard says: “The secret of Sofia's beauty is that her facial features are almost perfectly balanced.
“This is shown both vertically and horizontally, with her face divided vertically into five equal parts, each part as wide as one of her eyes.
“Horizontally, this ideal proportionality is demonstrated by how her forehead corresponds to her nose length, which in turn corresponds to the distance from her nose to her chin – this is the rule of three.”

Sofia – who split from her husband of seven years Joe Manganiello last year – has graced our screens for decades and is praised for her comedic talent, with her role as Gloria in Modern Family truly making her a household name.
Sofia, who has one adult son Manolo, whom she had with her childhood sweetheart Joe Gonzalez at the age of 19, has herself attributed something else to her worldwide fame: her 'gigantic' breasts.
Speaking to Spanish newspaper El País recently, the star said: “My huge breasts and my body opened doors for me.
“They were my passport to the world when I was 20 years old when I started modeling, but today I'm 51 years old and I'm still here.”

Make-under transformation
That makes Sofia's transition to drug lord Griselda even more remarkable, with director Andres explaining: “[Sofia] wanted to feel like a different person, but not to the point where the prosthetics or makeup took over her performance.”
Dr. Siddiqui says, “The transformation of Sofia Vergara's face for her role as Griselda in the Netflix series Griselda involved several prosthetic changes to alter her appearance.
“Sofia's makeup transformation for the role included prosthetic eyebrow coverings, false eyebrows, a prosthetic nose and a dental plate to alter her natural appearance.
“The goal was to make her look as 'average' as possible, moving away from her defining features and embodying the character of Griselda Blanco.
“Hairstylist Kelly Kline said that each hairstyle for the role was deliberately made flatter and smaller than normal to make Sofia look more real and less glamorous, as opposed to her usual glamorous appearance.”

Admission to adjustment
As previously mentioned, she is strongly denied having undergone surgery, but Sofia – who was diagnosed with thyroid cancer at the age of 28 – has admitted that she has not ruled anything out – and there are some 'adjustments' she is involved with swears by a thorough beauty regimen.
She previously revealed: “I do microneedling, little lasers for capillaries because I have rosacea.
“I regularly put Botox in my eyes and on my neck.
“Small things that I don't need to have at home for a month, because unfortunately that's not possible. And products. I love products.”
