Sofyan Amrabat offered transfer break after Man Utd nightmare

SOFYAN AMRABAT has been offered an escape route after his nightmare loan to Manchester United.

Amrabat, 27, signed for United last September on an £8.5 million loan with a £17.2 million option to buy after a summer-long transfer saga.

But his signing is pretty much where the excitement ended for United fans, with Amrabat struggling to make an impact in his limited minutes this season.

The emergence of 18-year-old Kobbie Mainoo has seen him drop even further down the pecking order, making just fourteen Premier League appearances.

He has only started in half of those and was often deployed as a makeshift full-back when called upon.

According to Italian outlet Gazetta Dello SportJuventus want the midfielder, who is on loan from Fiorentina to United, as they want to build a bigger squad.

Juventus has already qualified for the FIFA Club World Cup and looks likely to reach the expanded Champions League next season.

Central midfielder Adrien Rabiot, 28, is likely to leave Juve after postponing contract talks until the summer.

The Bianconeri see Amrabat as a player who could replace the Frenchman, but are prioritizing Atalanta’s Teun Koopmeiners, 26.

Koopmeiners has attracted interest from Liverpool and has been one of the Serie A players of the season so far.

Amrabat, for his part, is said to be ‘nostalgic’ for Italy, having played for Fiorentina and Hellas Verona in the past.

The Moroccan captained Fiorentina but returning to La Viola will not be an option as he went on strike to earn his move to Manchester United.

Juve have a good relationship with Fiorentina and even loaned them Amrabat’s replacement, Arthur, making a deal likely if Juve decide to pursue Amrabat.
