Of her offspring, she added: “I have five boys, but I don’t have five of the same person. Some like music and some don’t.

‘I still have one at home who never wants to come to my performances. But the majority of them actually like music.

“Five of anything is a lot. Fortunately, I love the chaos of big family life. Things always happen. One is running, the other has brought four friends.

‘It’s sometimes a good antidote to the darkness. They never ask “how did you perform?” They just tell me about their day and I like that.”

Sophie is gearing up to perform on her Christmas tour and has revealed she is enjoying performing her way.

She explained: ‘I’m 44 now and I really don’t care what people think of my dancing, so I’m just having fun with it. I was never cool and I don’t chase that.’

Sophie previously discussed life with her large brood while speaking on the Lockdown Parenting Hell podcast, saying: ‘If I hadn’t had five, I think I would have just had one. It was all or nothing.

“I think I’m so close to death because it’s so exhausting.”

When asked if she plans to have more children, Sophie mused: ‘It’s tricky. My youngest is almost three. So I’m at the point where normally they would be a different one.

“But I’m 42, so it’s probably time to just watch them grow up now. However, it is difficult. Annoying. I’m not one of those people who can form the sentence, “I’m done” – I’ve never been able to form the sentence. It’s like my mouth is going… [silent].’

Discussing how her husband feels about them having so many children, Sophie said: ‘He’s quite cold… rich. To be honest, I don’t think he’s turned on much of the last few. He just…okay then.

‘When I was little, I was an only child until I was eight. Then my brother Jackson was born and I was absolutely obsessed with him and I think that sowed the seed.

‘He [Jackson] was a new start and that is something that is deep within me. That babies are good.
