Sri Lankan Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe sacks National Cricket Board (SLC) amid poor show at 2023 ODI World Cup

New Delhi: Sri Lanka Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe has dismissed the Sri Lanka cricket board following their poor show in the ongoing 2023 ODI World Cup in India. Sri Lanka are out of the tournament and are currently at number seven in the points table.

In the recent outing against India, the Kusal Mendis-led side scored their lowest total of the World Cup and now on October 6, they will take on Bangladesh and the match will be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in the national capital New Delhi .

“An interim committee led by Arjuna Ranatunga has been appointed by Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe to address the ongoing challenges within Sri Lanka Cricket,” reports Daily Mirror.

The ministry said the minister, under the authority granted by Sports Law No. 25 of 1973, appointed the interim committee, the newspaper reported.
