Shirley Ballas is reportedly in ‘advanced talks’ to appear in the upcoming series of Celebrity Big Brother.

The 63-year-old head judge of Strictly Come Dancing is said to be a big fan of the show and it is claimed ITV bosses are hoping to win her over with a big money offer.

Ballroom dancer Shirley would be the first major addition to the 2024 program if she agrees to participate.

A source said The sun: ‘Shirley is embroiled in discussions about swapping her judge seat for Big Brother’s diary room chair.

‘She is a huge fan of the show and said she wanted to take part to show audiences a different side of her to the woman people are used to seeing on Strictly.

‘The only thing holding Shirley back is the BBC’s position on taking the job because she wants to keep everyone happy.

‘ITV think Shirley would be a sensational signing and they are keen to get her on board. She is confident, outspoken and would make brilliant television.’

A Big Brother spokesperson told MailOnline: ‘All names for Celebrity Big Brother are purely speculation.’

MailOnline has contacted a representative for Shirley for comment.

In November it was confirmed that Celebrity Big Brother would return in March 2024 following the success of the ITV2 reboot of Big Brother, which launched in October.

It is claimed that WAG Rebekah Vardy is being watched by CBB bosses, as well as former This Morning presenter Phillip Schofield and US businesswoman Jennifer Arcuri, who reportedly had an affair with former Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

It comes after it was reported that show bosses are planning to offer Sarah Ferguson £500,000 to take part in the upcoming series.

Reality TV juggernaut Big Brother returned to screens on ITV2 in October this year after being axed from Channel 5 five years earlier in 2018.

And ITV executives are said to be keen to sign the Duchess of York, 64, in a bid to attract a large audience.

An ITV source told the newspaper Mirror: ‘Sarah would be a brilliant addition to Celebrity Big Brother. She is very smart, engaging and funny. Not to mention the millions of viewers she would attract when she started talking to housemates about the royal family and Prince Andrew.

‘Sarah has never considered reality formats in the past, but ITV bosses hope their offer can change that.

‘Signing her would be a huge coup. That’s why they dig deep for the offer they want to make to her.’

The royal is understood to have been impressed after she co-presented and guest edited an episode of This Morning last month.

Fergie said of the role: ‘I’ve appeared on This Morning before, but this time I’m returning in a very different role.

‘I love live TV and am a big fan of the show, and the whole team are always a pleasure to be around.

‘I’m looking forward to being there all morning and am thrilled to be guest editing the show, which means I get to explore some of the topics I’m passionate about.’
