But thanks to Gen-Z’s dedication to wearing things off the beaten path, many long-buried styles are making a comeback.

Now a fashion stylist has urged people to stay away from a piece of clothing that is turning heads.

Casey Matheny revealed that she throws out every pair of capris and pedal pushers she comes across when detoxing her clients’ wardrobes.

“You know them,” she said.

“They are cropped, but they hit mid-calf.

“Your mother wore them maybe ten to fifteen years ago.

“If you have them in your closet, they have to go.”

Instead, Casey recommended cropped pants that sit about an inch past your ankle.

“If it goes any higher, then it just creates horizontal lines in your leg,” she explained.

“And that just makes you look shorter instead of visually elongated.”

From superstar singer J Lo to Sex And The City actress Sarah Jessica Parker, twenty years ago celebrities were everywhere.

And now they’re back and being sold on the high street.

Capri pants end between the knee and mid-calf and can enlarge the top and bottom of the legs on certain body types.

They started life in the 1950s (think American dinner parties and pink gingham) and were further popularized in the 1980s by Madonna and Bananarama.

In the early 1990s, they were a summer fashion staple for millions of women.

Even now, the “capri pants” videos have racked up a whopping 12.4 million views on TikTok.

And it’s not just Casey who is warning people about this trend.

Popular fashion YouTuber Shea Whitney says some of your clothes may make you look old and outdated, including capri pants.

“They’re very, very unflattering,” she said.

“They actually cut off your leg in the worst place: the middle of your calf.

“Your legs look much fatter and stubbier than they are.”

The “weird length” can also make your torso and legs appear the same length, which isn’t what you want
