RICE AND EASY: Egg fried rice is a cheap and tasty meal.
Heat a teaspoon oil In a frying pan add a bag of rice, 50p from Sainsbury's, and cook for two minutes. Then add three tablespoons of soy sauce and a beaten egg.
Stir while cooking for another minute. You can also add some cooked chicken or pork, cubes of tofu, cooked frozen peas, or edamame beans.

FANTASTIC FAKE-AWAYS: Instead of buying Chinese takeaway, you can make a fake meal at home for much less.
Make a delicious stir-fry dish by frying finely chopped vegetables with a little garlic and ginger. Garlic powder and dried ginger are fine if you don't have fresh ginger.
Meat eaters can prepare inexpensive minced pork or beef strips to add to the dish. Mix in a packet of cooked noodles and finish with soy and chili sauce.
MEAL OFFERS: Most supermarkets have a stir-fry meal deal, which offers noodles, vegetables and a sauce.
Asda customers can get it the three essentials for £2.50, portion two. Just add your own meat, shrimp or tofu.
In the run-up to Chinese New Year, keep an eye out for other supermarket offers.
With a Nectar card you get the New Year's meal deal at Sainsbury's with two mains and two sides for £8. M&S has a meal deal for £15, while Tesco has three Chinese ready meals for £7.50, which is £2.25 saves.
FREEBIES: If you can't resist a takeaway, Deliveroo has joined 600 Asian eateries to offer customers the chance to grab free items when you order, including spring sandwiches, chicken wings or prawn crackers until Monday.
