Lok Sabha issues circular to suspended MPs

As mentioned earlier, the Lok Sabha Secretariat has issued a circular for the suspended MPs; it reads: “Consequently, the following consequences will flow from their suspension and remain in effect during the period of suspension: they will not be able to enter the rooms, lobby and galleries. They are suspended from meetings of parliamentary committees of which they may be members. No entry in their name shall be entered in the List of Cases.”

It further reads: “No notice submitted by them will be acceptable during the period of their suspension. They cannot vote in elections to committees held during the period of their suspension. They are not entitled to the daily subsistence allowance for the period of suspension if they are suspended from the service of the House for the remainder of the session, as their residence at the place of duty cannot be considered as an official residence under Article 2, under d). of Salary. Allowances and Pensions of Members of Parliament Act, 1954, as amended from time to time.”.

Nationwide protest on December 22: Mallikarjun Kharge
