Sydney Sweeney And Dakota Johnson are caught in a rather twisted web in the new Mrs. Web trailer.

Sony debuted the teaser on Wednesday, November 15, and it gives a pretty clear setup for the film. Cassandra Web (Johnson) is a paramedic who suddenly has the ability to see into the future.

“A week ago, I spent my entire life racing against time, trying to save people who were on the run – until, at one point, everything changed,” Cassie says.

She almost drowns after helping someone escape from an overturned car that was about to fall off a bridge. Unfortunately, Cassie doesn’t make it in time, but her fellow paramedic (Adam Scott) pulls her out of the water and performs CPR. “Welcome back to the land of the living,” he says.

The expansion of Sony’s Spider-Man universe continues with a new female-focused action-adventure film: Madame Web. The film follows Marvel Comics character Cassandra Web/Madame Web, who was first introduced in 1980’s The Amazing Spider-Man #210. The character is a psychic who specializes in predicting the future of various superheroes in the Spider-Man series. […]

Cassie soon crosses paths with three young girls (Sweeney, Isabela Merced And Celeste O’Connor) and she begins saving their lives from a masked man. First she keeps them in a restaurant and then in a train car, where she catches a glimpse of the man’s face.

“I’ve seen that guy before,” Cassie says. “Ezekiel Sims – he was with my mother in the Amazon right before she died.”

The man isn’t the only one Cassie has a bond with. The three girls she continues to save have all crossed paths with her before. “Don’t you think it’s strange that we’re all connected?” asks Mercedes’ character.

“Honestly, this is the least strange thing that’s happened all day,” Cassie jokes.

The trio is clearly important; they even appear briefly in superhero suits in the trailer. Sweeney appears to be wearing the black suit with a white spider emblem, which seems to confirm that she will be playing Julia Carpenter/Spider-Woman. Merced will reportedly play Anya Corazon/Spider-Girl, while O’Connor will reportedly play Mattie Franklin, another version of Spider-Woman with extra spider legs emerging from her back.

Their spidey senses are tingling! Spider-Man has become one of the most coveted superhero roles in film and television, with actors like Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland stepping into the shoes of Peter Parker. Maguire was the first to introduce the character to the big screen in Spider-Man (2002), Spider-Man 2 (2004) and Spider-Man […]

Even though they’re all spider people, don’t expect Spider-Man (Tom Holland) to appear. Spider-Man: Far From Home And Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse have made it clear that there are countless different universes with their own arachnid-inspired heroes.

Like Venom And Morbius, Mrs. Web is not going to connect with the most famous web-slinger. Sony describes Mrs. Web as a “standalone origin story of one of Marvel Publishers’ most enigmatic heroines.”

S. J. Clarkson (Jessica Jones) directs the exciting thriller, which also stars Tahar Rahim, Mike Eps And Emma Roberts.

Mrs. Web will be released in theaters on February 14, 2024.
