A YOUNG couple who married months after winning a £45million jackpot have split – the latest case of the lottery curse.

Decorator Matt Topham and Iceland shop supervisor Cassey Carrington were both 22 when they won the EuroMillions in 2012.

The teenage sweethearts tied the knot the same year and had three children.

But last night Cassey confirmed at their country pile, complete with airstrip, that they are no longer living together.

Racing madman Matt, 34, has been on a date in his Maserati with new interest Amy Cox, with the pair sharing selfies outside the London Eye and on a ski trip.

He was seen picking up the mother-of-three from a £130,000 terraced house owned by her father, a builder in a village near Lincoln.

She drives a £5,000 VW Tiguan and a neighbor said: “I don’t think she has ever worked because she is busy looking after her children, who are all toddlers.

“She’s had a few boyfriends, so it would be like that Nice if she found happiness with Matt.

Drives a Maserati

‘I don’t know how they met. We don’t see them outside very often.”

Another resident told us: “We had no idea he was a lottery winner. He gets around in his Maserati, so he must still have a few bumps.”

Cassey has not made any public posts on social media since about the same time.

Questioned about the split yesterday, Cassey told The Sun: “Matt doesn’t live here anymore.”

When asked if she wanted to say anything about the breakup, she replied: “No, thank you.”

How the news broke

They spend a lot of time together,” he told a colleague. “Maybe one of the reasons I don’t want to ask is because I don’t want to put any extra pressure on her. If it works for her and gives her a chance to deal with our divorce…then that’s fine with me.”

Shakira shares some candid insights into her life with her two sons after her divorce Gerard Pique.

In a interview with Zane Lowewhich dropped on Wednesday, March 20, the 47-year-old singer spoke candidly about navigating motherhood as a single parent with her and Piqué’s boys, Milan, 11, and Sasha, 9.

Despite her hectic schedule, Shakira says she makes it a priority to spend quality time with her kids.

“I recorded a video, took pictures, prepared for a new video, prepared for the release of my album. So I go to sleep the next day around 9am – 9am, 11am,” she revealed.

Sharing a glimpse into her hectic daily routine, the Grammy winner said: “Yesterday I came home at 7am. My children were already waiting for me, so I had breakfast with them and stayed with them. Sometimes I don’t even go to sleep until it’s their bedtime.”

Laughing, Shakira confessed that she “walks on fumes,” adding, “That’s what I do because I want to spend time with my kids. I put them to bed and then I pass out. It was intense, I was juggling everything.”

Shakira acknowledged the challenges of single parenthood, noting that it’s all about finding the right balance.

“It’s the first time I’ve had to deal with so much as a single mother,” she explained. “So it is a challenge. But they are great.”

When Lowe asked if her boys understand that she has to work, Shakira confirmed that they are a “great support.”

“They understand how important making music is to me, how important it is to stay productive, to feel relevant in society, to find your own place in the community,” she said. “They understand that very well and support me.”

Reflecting on the time she spent in Barcelona when her children were younger, Shakira expressed the guilt she felt at being torn between motherhood and her career.

“Every time I had to be pulled into the studio to do my work, I felt like I was leaving my family unattended,” she recalls. “There were times when I didn’t really enjoy it [work]. I felt guilty, I felt torn.”

However, with time things have changed. “Now it feels completely different. Even though it’s more challenging because now I’m in charge of these two children, these two babies who are so dependent on me. And I’m a single mother, I don’t have a husband at home to help with anything,” she added.

The “Hips Don’t Lie” singer went on to say that despite juggling work and home life, she is more committed to her music than ever.

“I want to tour, I want to perform [the fans] and be a better artist for them, and I also want to be a good example for my children. Those are the two biggest motivations I have now.”

Who is Barbara Broccoli?

Barbara – who, along with half-brother Michael G. Wilson, has managed the James Bond franchise since 1995.

She began working in the Bond series at the age of 17, working in the publicity department of The Spy Who Loved Me (1977).

A few years later she was assistant director on Octopussy (1983) and became associate producer of the film The Living Daylights (1987).

Her most important role was as producer of the Bond films starring Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig.

Last year, Barbara said there was a “long way to go” in casting Craig’s replacement.

The actor called it quits two years ago after a fifteen-year stint spanning six films: Casino Royale (2006), Quantum of Solace (2008), Skyfall (2012), Specter (2015) and No Time To Die (2021).

How did they meet?

The chef and the film boss first met at a charity auction in 2001 when Barbara, then 41, paid £18,000 to have him cook her a meal when he was 29 years old and a star on the rise.

They hit it off immediately and James cooked for her again at her birthday party, leading to a blossoming romance.

Romeo announced his split from Mia less than three weeks ago when he shared a photo of him and Mia making funny faces at each other during a country walk.

He captioned the photo, “Mooch and I broke up after five years of love. We still have a lot of respect for each other and we still have a strong friendship, and we always will.”

Mia also shared a selfie and joked that they had ‘friendzoned’ each other after five years.

Billie Piper has finally broken her silence on ex-husband Laurence Fox six years after their ‘quickie divorce’. 

The actress shares sons Winston, 12, and Eugene, eight, with the controversial activist and the pair were embroiled in a lengthy custody dispute after their split. 

In 2022, Laurence, 45, publicly spoke out about their arrangement, claiming Billie was using their children as ‘weapons’ and that he had been denied access to seeing them. 

While Billie, 41, maintained a dignified silence at the time, she has now spoken out about their complicated relationship in a candid interview with British Vogue. 

Asked how she navigates co-parenting with Laurence, Billie shared: ‘With enormous difficulty.’

She continued: ‘I close everything down and keep a very strict routine with the kids so that there’s consistency. I keep them close. That’s all I can do…

‘What is paramount for me is the privacy and anonymity of my children. They deserve not to be extensions of the parents and to forge their own identities.’

Billie added that she tries to avoid hearing anything about her ex, who has hit headlines in recent weeks for a slew of controversies. 

He was recently dropped from GB News after launching into a ‘sexist’ rant about a female journalist and lost a high profile libel case after calling two men ‘paedophiles’.

Despite discussing the difficulties of Laurence she revealed that there has been a ‘positive’ in their divorce and custody battle. 

She reasoned: ‘It’s made me feel stronger in many ways. I’ve learnt I have a lot of resilience I didn’t know I had. 

‘I’ve had to learn the hard way that you can only control yourself and how you react to things. It’s really f***ing hard. I hate that.’ 

Yet she confessed that she isn’t the best person to ask about Laurence, saying: ‘Look, if people want to try and understand the workings of the guy, they ought to either ask him or his family. 

‘Ask [Fox’s brother-in-law, actor and comedian] Richard Ayoade what he thinks, or his wife [Fox’s actor sister] Lydia. They might have a more interesting take.’

Billie first met Laurence in a theatre rehearsal room in 2006 and they tied the knot the following year when she was 25.  

It was her second marriage, following her controversial union with DJ Chris Evans, whom she wed when she was 18 and he was 35 – yet Billie has no bad words about her first husband, labelling him ‘one of the good guys.’ 

Most recently she was dating singer Johnny Lloyd but the couple quietly separated last year after eight years together. They share five-year-old daughter, Tallulah. 

There seems to be no bad blood between the pair, with Billie labelling Johnny ‘a very good man’. 

She confessed in her Vogue chat that her late 20s and early 30s were a period of unrest for her and she felt ‘unhinged and mentally not well’.

At the time of their split, they stated their intention to ‘co-parent their children with the utmost mutual respect for each other’.

But between 2016 and 2017, Laurence and Billie then became embroiled in a lengthy custody dispute over access to their children.

The proceedings concluded in the Family Division of the High Court in December 2017 and Laurence previously claimed that they drained his finances.

The actor said that he’d been forced to put his career on hold so that he could help their children cope with the aftermath of the split.

Speaking in January 2018, he said: ‘I was certainly in a very dark place at one point – at my lowest ebb. I almost felt like I couldn’t go on. It all felt so hopeless.

‘Men no longer feel comfortable talking about relationships, and for the men who bottle it, it can be disastrous – they end up throwing themselves off buildings.’

After his court proceedings, Laurence started campaigning to transform the family court system, which he described as ‘unnecessarily adversarial’.

At the time, he said: ‘Actually I feel really sad. The process didn’t need to be so long, drawn-out and adversarial.

‘And ours was quick, because we have cash. I feel the children have been robbed of their young lives. It’s been half of Eugene’s life.’

In 2022, Laurence brought their custody dispute back into the public eye when he accused Billie of denying him access to their children, alleging that he has not been able to see or speak to his eldest son Winston on his 14th birthday.

He penned: ‘It is [my son’s] birthday tomorrow and his mother has denied him any access to see or speak with me, I am using my platform to highlight what child alienation does to families. Kids need both parents.

‘Don’t be the parent who refuses to let their sons speak to their dad, especially on their birthday. Don’t be that parent. Put children first. Don’t use them as weapons.

‘It is so bad for kids. Child alienation needs to be talked about openly, along with all other child abuse.’

But Twitter users were quick to hit back at his allegations and accused him of using his children as ‘weapons’ – which he accused Billie of – by sharing the ranting post.

It’s unlucky in love again for Billie Piper as she has reportedly split from her boyfriend Johnny Lloyd after eight years together.

The former Doctor Who star, 41, and the singer, 38, who share five-year-old daughter, Tallulah, decided to end their romance after lockdown had a major impact on their relationship, according to The Sun on Sunday.

It’s not the first relationship to seemingly turn sour for the actress; she’s been divorced twice and involved in a bitter custody battle with her ex Laurence Fox. 

She famously married her first husband Chris Evans back in 2001, after dating for six months, aged just 18, with the 16-year age gap between the pair sparking controversy. 

So, amid reports that the end of Billie’s relationship to Johnny was ‘very sad’ and they are ‘better off apart’, FEMAIL takes a look at the star’s complicated relationship history…

Fans of Billie Piper were shocked when it emerged that she and Chris Evans had tied the knot in a casual Las Vegas wedding in 2001 – with just six guests.

The couple has only met a year earlier when she appeared on his TV show TFI Friday in 2000 – the next day, he sent a £110,000 Ferrari filled with roses to her home (she couldn’t drive at the time). 

She was just 18, when she wed Chris who was 16-years old her senior, sparking controversy.

The duo married in a secret Las Vegas ceremony at the Little Church of the West for which she wore flips flops and a sarong. The groom was equally casual, donning an open-necked shirt.

An 18-month sabbatical followed as the couple travelled the world, before settling at Chris’ country estate in Hascombe, Surrey. 

The couple split three years later in 2004 and the divorce was finalised in 2007, they remained on good terms with Billie likening the marriage ‘to being in your university years’.

She did not request a single penny of his estimated £30million fortune, and although citing irreconcilable differences on their divorce papers, they remained close afterwards.

Billie previously recalled how she got ‘completely hammered for three years’ with her ex-husband when she was feeling burnt out from her teen pop career. 

Speaking on David Tennant Does A Podcast With… in 2020, Billie said she had an ‘amazing time’ with Chris and described the relationship as ‘very loving.’

And when Billie had a public ‘meltdown’ in 2006, it was no surprise that it was her estranged husband to which she turned. 

Suffering from stress over her forthcoming stage debut in the intense emotional drama Treats, she was seen making a teary mobile phone call close to the rehearsal rooms where final preparations were being made for the play’s opening night.

Minutes later, Chris appeared, accompanying her to a pavement café where he tenderly held her hand as she sobbed uncontrollably.

After her marriage broke down, Bille Piper was seem looking cosy with Matt Smith, who played Doctor Who – three years before he scored the role.

Meanwhile, Billie played the Time lord’s famous assistant since its 2005 revival, while he was an unknown actor propelled to fame when chosen to star in the BBC series. 

Pictured holding hands at a Surrey fete in 2006, the pair stroll together through the crowd, drinking Pimms and enjoying the sunshine.

At this point, the two actors had just been reunited on the set of ITV2’s Piper vehicle, Secret Diary of a Call Girl, in which Smith had a minor role. They had previously worked together on BBC drama The Ruby in the Smoke.

Although Smith and Piper never announced they were officially a couple, a friend who was with them on the day they visited the fete says their chemistry was unmistakeable.

‘They were very touchy-feely and seemed really at ease with each other,’ they said. ‘Everybody assumed they were a couple by the way they were acting.’

The friend added that the two actors did not go unnoticed by the crowd. ‘A lot of people were talking about how good they looked together,’ they said.

Chris Evans was not Billie’s only husband – she also was married to Laurence Fox, who was famous for coming from an acting dynasty, and now for his political commentary work.

Billie first met Laurence in a theatre rehearsal room in 2006, they went on to marry a year later – she was granted a ‘quickie’ divorce from him in 2016.

She tied-the-knot with Laurence in a low-key parish church ceremony on New Year’s Eve in 2007, after a few drinks in the local pub.

They were married in a 50-minute ceremony at a village church near their £750,000 home in Eastbourne, West Sussex, with the actress wearing a formal, low-cut wedding dress in ivory with a flash of pink.

It was Billie’s former husband Chris and his new wife, Natasha Shishmanian, that made the guest list somewhat unusual.

The presenter was also the first person to visit the newly-married couple’s home, with the trio chinking glasses in a cordial toast before Chris drove to his own country pile, just a few miles away.

Laurence and Billie went on to welcome two sons, Winston, 12, and Eugene, eight.

However, the pair confirmed they had separated after eight years of marriage in 2016, and insisted that ‘no third parties involved’ in their split.

A post on his official Facebook account at the time read: ‘Laurence Fox and Billie Piper have separated. No third parties are involved. For the sake of our family we request and appeal for space and privacy at this time.’

The pair were granted a ‘quickie divorce’ in a court ruling that took just 50 seconds, citing unreasonable behaviour.

The actress, was not present when her request for a decree nisi from the actor was granted on the grounds that the marriage had ‘irretrievably broken down’ on the grounds of his ‘unreasonable behaviour’.

At the time of their split, they stated their intention to ‘co-parent their children with the utmost mutual respect for each other’.

But between 2016 and 2017, Laurence and Billie then became embroiled in a lengthy custody dispute over access to their children.

The proceedings concluded in the Family Division of the High Court in December 2017 and Laurence previously claimed that they drained his finances.

Actor Laurence revealed that he’s been forced to put his career on hold so that he can help their children cope with the aftermath of the split.

But rather than throwing himself head-first into his work, he’s had to become a full-time father to his two children.

Meanwhile Billie – who shares sons Winston, 12, and Eugene, eight, with her ex-husband Laurence Fox – told The Guardian: ‘I know about dysfunctional relationships. I know about what it costs to be a woman.’

Now Billie Piper has reportedly split from her boyfriend Johnny Lloyd after eight years together.

The former Doctor Who star, 41, and the singer, 38, who share five-year-old daughter, Tallulah, decided to end their romance after lockdown had a major impact on their relationship.

Sources told The Sun on Sunday that the end of their relationship was ‘very sad’ and they are ‘better off apart.’

A source told the publication that Billie and Johnny actually split last year.

They said: ‘It’s obviously very sad that the couple have gone their separate ways.

‘But the relationship ran its course and they decided they would be better off apart. Like many couples, lockdown was quite tough for them, so they have had time to really think about what they want their future to look like.

‘They will always treasure the time they had together and have many happy memories.

‘Now they are concentrating on co-parenting their daughter and their separate careers.’

Former Doctor Who star Billie was previously married to DJ Chris Evans, who is 17 years her senior, and actor-turned-political activist Laurence Fox, 45, with whom she has two sons.

Billie and Johnny welcomed their daughter Tallulah in January 2019 after it was confirmed in July 2018 that Billie was expecting her first child with the rocker.

A source told the Mirror at the time: ‘Billie and Johnny are delighted. They can’t wait to welcome the new addition to their family.’

She revealed she would love to have more children back in February, 2018, admitting: ‘In my dream world I’d have loads.’

TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew responded — in the form of a TikTok clip — after the U.S. House of Representatives voted in favor of a legislature that could ban the platform in the United States.

The House voted 352-65 on Wednesday, with representatives from both sides of the aisle joining together to pass the bill. It now heads to the Senate, where it faces an uncertain future.

Politicians have long raised concerns about TikTok’s parent company, ByteDance, which is headquartered in Beijing and is believed to have ties to the Chinese Communist Party.

President Joe Biden has pledged to sign the bill, which would force ByteDance to sell TikTok within six months or be banned from app stores and web hosting services.

Chew, 41, released a video on the official TikTok account on X, formerly Twitter, on Wednesday evening. The CEO introduced himself by his first name before beginning his prepared remarks.

“I just wanted to share some thoughts with our US users on the disappointing vote in the House of Representatives,” he said. “There has been a lot of misinformation and I hope to clear some things up.”

He thanked the platform’s 1.7 billion-member community for “making (their) voices heard.” As of March 2023, there were at least 150 million users based in the United States, although that number is now estimated at around 170 million.

‘Over the past years we have invested in keeping your data safe and our platform free from outside manipulation. We have committed to that and we will continue to do so,” Chew continued.

Whistleblowers within the company, most notably former ByteDance employee Yintao Yu, have previously raised alarms about its lax data privacy.

Yu, who served as head of engineering for ByteDance’s U.S. operations between August 2017 and November 2018, sued the company in May 2023.

In the complaint, he alleged that a group of CCP members nicknamed “The Committee” was installed in offices in Beijing and could view all data collected by the company, including data from the United States.

In 2022, TikTok announced Project Texas, an unprecedented initiative to store all US user data on servers in the country.

In June of that year, the platform reported that all US user traffic was being redirected to its cloud infrastructure in the United States.

TikTok also announced that it would also delete “historically protected user data” in data centers in both Virginia and Singapore.

Lawmakers and intelligence officials have spoken out about concerns that Chinese authorities could force ByteDance to hand over U.S. user data.

Their fears are fueled by a series of Chinese national security laws that force organizations to comply with intelligence gathering practices.

TikTok has repeatedly denied the sharing US user data to Chinese authorities and insists they will not do so even if asked.

FBI Director Christopher Wray appealed to members of the House Intelligence Committee on Tuesday, calling the CCP “the defining threat of our generation.”

“Americans need to ask themselves whether they want to give the Chinese government the ability to control access to their data, whether they want to give the Chinese government the ability to control the information they get through the recommendation algorithm,” he said.

Last year, researchers at Rutgers University’s Network Contagion Research Institute assessed a “strong possibility” that TikTok promotes and demotes certain topics based on the Chinese government’s preferences.

The researchers suspected that the algorithm manipulated discourse not only on topics specific to China, but also on strategically important topics such as the wars in it Ukraine and Israel.

The focus of Wednesday’s vote, called the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act, is not the first attempt to ban the app in the United States.

Former President Donald Trump tried to ban the video-sharing platform through an executive order in 2020. This attempt failed after TikTok filed a lawsuit and was ultimately blocked by the courts.

“This legislation, if signed into law, will lead to a ban on TikTok in the United States,” Chew said in the message on Wednesday. “Even the bill’s sponsors admit this is their goal.”

He added that the bill “gives more power to a handful of other social media companies,” but did not mention them by name.

“It will also take billions of dollars out of the pockets of makers and small businesses,” Chew continued. “It will put more than 300,000 American jobs at risk and it will take away your TikTok.”

Addressing the users themselves, he continued: “We will not stop advocating for you and we will continue to do everything we can, including exercising our legal rights, to build this great platform that we have together with you built, to protect.’

He ended the video by urging users to continue sharing their voices with those around them, including their senators.

Chew and executives from other tech companies such as Meta and Snap testified before U.S. lawmakers last month on the topic of online child safety.

During the hearing, Chew was questioned about his nationality and possible connections to the CCP by Senator Tom Cotton, a Republican from Arkansas.

“You said today, as you often say, that you live in Singapore. Of which country are you a citizen?’ Cotton asked.

Chew repeatedly confirmed that he was Singaporean, even referring to his mandatory two-year service in the country’s military.

When Cotton Chew even asked if he was a member of the CCP, the CEO replied, “Senator, I am Singaporean. No.’

If the bill were to pass the Senate and be signed into law, TikTok would lose a substantial portion of its advertising market.

A 2022 study from the Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health found that the app generated $2 billion in ad revenue from users aged 13 to 17 in the United States alone.

Although the bill received overwhelming support during Wednesday’s vote, critics were quick to voice their opposition.

Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar, a Democrat, denounced the Legislature as “bad policy” in a tweet.

“We need to create real standards and regulations around privacy violations at social media companies — not target platforms we don’t like,” she wrote.

Advocates and content creators flocked to the Capitol ahead of the vote. Some held signs that read, “TikTok has changed my life for the better.”

TikTok itself also issued a statement opposing the vote.

“This process was secret and the bill was blocked for one reason: it is a ban,” spokesman Alex Haurek said in a statement.

“We are hopeful that the Senate will consider the facts, listen to their constituents and realize the impact on the economy, on seven million small businesses and on the 170 million Americans who use our service.”

In the last part of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills meeting, Kyle Richards makes it clear that she doesn’t share the “real reason” for her and Mauricio Umanski‘s divorce.
