Under pressure

Marriage takes work

While discussing Farrah’s own relationship issues with then-fiancée Alex Manos (in the finale it is revealed that Farrah and Alex called off their engagement due to his lack of willingness to make a wedding plan), Mauricio shares his views on marriage.

“It really feels like the relationship is a bit stuck right now,” he said of Farrah and Alex. “I know Farrah wants the fairytale but the reality is that marriages are hard and I’m really happy and proud that Farrah is taking the time to figure out what to do because marriage is a huge commitment and even the best marriages sometimes not so. it doesn’t work.”

The Hilton and Hyland of everything

“I think I was kind of let down by Hilton and Hyland,” Mauricio said of working with Kyle’s brother-in-law, Rick Hilton, at the beginning of his real estate career. “And when I say f–ked, you know, like today, I’m happy. But there were 100 officers at Hilton and Hyland. They made $1 billion a year for the first time – I was 19.6 percent of their production. Then I went home and talked to Kyle. I say, ‘This is really going to cause a lot of stress between you and your sister and your family. And I don’t want to do this step of leaving and starting a business if you don’t feel comfortable. She supported me 100 percent.”

Kyle checks out

By episode three, it’s clear that something is wrong with the one-time Bravo golden couple.

“With Kyle, I’m starting to feel like she’s checked out a little bit. I definitely reached out and wanted to kiss her, but she actually said no,” Mauricio told Netflix cameras. “I’m starting to see and feel that, but I’m not there. I’m still fighting 100 percent for our relationship and I still think I’ll be married to her for the rest of my life. … We have been to couples therapy three times now with the intention of trying to work on the marriage and understanding and communicating with each other. So I can understand a little better what Kyle is really bothering me about. But we haven’t talked to our daughters yet about what’s going on.”

In her own confessional, Sophia said that as far as she knew, her parents “weren’t divorced.” She continued: “I thought, ‘Oh my God, is there something I don’t know?’ However, Farrah said what makes things different “this time” (the pair have weathered split rumors before) is that there is some “truth” to it.

“Before the news broke, we hadn’t actually talked about any problems with the family. … [We] kept it out of reach of the children,” Mauricio noted.

As Kyle and Mauricio then prepared dinner for their daughters, Mauricio noted that he and Kyle have “started to look at things differently,” explaining, “She has really adopted a super healthy lifestyle. She has stopped drinking completely. Kyle wants to be home and wants me not to be the big personality that I am: partying and having fun, coming home late. I am still a very social person. I’m not ready to slow down that part of my life right now.”

The family dinner turns tense, with Kyle revealing that she has to go back to Beverly Hills to film scenes RHOBH because of the split news.

“Kyle and I have always dreamed of growing old together, being grandparents together and watching our grandchildren play,” he said in a confessional. “The thought that Kyle and I might not be together and break up is definitely something that is sad and difficult.”

During episode 10, the show resumes the scene with Mauricio, Farrah, Alexia and Sophia and it is revealed that the show was filmed in September 2023 after Mauricio told TMZ that he and Kyle were indeed divorced. Their daughters reveal they didn’t know anything was official and are angry that they discovered another aspect of their parents’ marriage in the news.

The rules of divorce and the lack of communication

“Your mother came and spoke to me and said, ‘Listen, I want us to be separated. The rules are I’m not going to ask you what you’re doing. I don’t want you to ask me what I’m doing. You go out, you go out,” Mauricio told the girls in the final.

Mauricio acknowledged that he “was the cause [Kyle] some pain” and he “wanted to do everything possible to just save [the marriage].” Although he said he tried to do something about it, their daughters were not convinced.

Some famous couples have gone all the way, but others haven’t been so lucky. 2024 started with a handful of Hollywood duos calling it quits. Fans were shocked when Bachelor couple Rachel Lindsay and Bryan Abasolo split after four years of marriage. Us Weekly confirmed on January 2 that the chiropractor had filed for divorce […]

“My mother and I haven’t really had any conversations at all in the last two months,” Mauricio told them as they pressed why they haven’t talked more about the breakup. “I have reasons why we haven’t communicated, but I don’t want to say.”

The Morgan in the room

“So Morgan Wade is a country star. There are a lot of rumors going around that Kyle is sleeping with Morgan,” Mauricio said in a confessional in Episode 8. “I have to tell you, I don’t believe she has anything going on with Morgan. Maybe I’m the only dumbass who doesn’t, but I don’t actually think she has anything going on with Morgan.’

In episode 10, Morgan is brought up again when Mauricio admitted that he didn’t even ask Kyle “directly” if she was dating Morgan. “They definitely have some kind of bond with each other, there’s no doubt about that. They spend a lot of time together,” he told a colleague. “Maybe one of the reasons I don’t want to ask is because I don’t want to put any extra pressure on her. If it works for her and gives her a chance to deal with our divorce…then that’s fine with me.”

While Kyle and Morgan have denied dating, a source recently shared We weekly that Kyle “really cares about Morgan.” The insider noted that she was “confused,” but “Kyle was excited about these feelings after losing connection with Mauricio in their marriage.”

The chance for reconciliation

“She took over the entire top floor. I still live in the bedroom,” he said in the finale. “If there’s any chance of reconciliation, I feel like I really need to move on and do some soul-searching, like, ‘Do I miss her?’ Don’t I miss her? Is it time to really move on with life?’”
