Taylor Swift drives fans wild as she dines with Barbie director Greta Gerwig after ‘saving the US economy’, while Midnights star Laura Dern and boyfriend Zoe Kravitz also join in

Taylor Swift went out for dinner with some of her A-list friends at Italian eatery Il Buco Alimentari & Vineria in New York on Monday.

The Bad Blood hitmaker, 33, was joined by Barbie director Greta Gerwig, 40, after fans recently joked that the women ‘saved the US economy’ – Greta with her billion-dollar film and Swift with her record-breaking Eras tour.

The ladies also dined with Laura Dern, 56 – who starred in Swift’s Bejeweled music video – and Batman star Zoe Kravitz, 34.

Swift looked stylish for the evening, wearing a black mini dress with knee-high Christian Louboutin boots.

The singer completed the look with a plaid gray VINCE jacket and a black bag.

Swift wore her blonde locks up in a chic bun for the night.

She accentuated her pout with red lipstick and accessorized with dangling earrings and a gold necklace.

Meanwhile, Gerwig wore a flowing black dress with matching loafers. She paired the look with a stylish light pink crossbody bag from Gucci.

The Lady Bird director wore her blonde bob styled in light waves.

Dern was casually cool in a denim jacket over a red turtleneck. The actress wore black pants and white sneakers that evening.

She accessorized her look with a gold chain and a chunky gold ring. She wore her blonde locks down and slightly curled.

Zoe was fashionable in a mint green trench coat, which she paired with oversized trousers.

The daughter of rock star Lenny Kravitz wore a navy blue baseball cap over her black locks and carried a large cream tote bag on her shoulder.

Dern and Kravitz shared a goodbye hug after the successful dinner.

Certainly, the ladies had a lot to talk about at dinner, following the success of Swift’s ongoing tour and Gerwig’s Barbie box office hit.

Some Swift fans have claimed the singer has prevented the US from falling into a recession after the Eras Tour was expected to generate nearly $5 billion in consumer spending.

Meanwhile, Gerwig’s Barbie passed Marvel’s The Avengers as the eleventh highest-grossing film of all time at the domestic box office, with $626.1 million.

Barbie also raked in $1.416 billion at the global box office, which ranks 14th worldwide.

While the foursome could have discussed their impact on the American economy, they might also have reminisced about the time Dern starred in one of Swift’s videos.

The Oscar winner even previously recalled how a young fan recognized her from the Bejeweled video, and not from her iconic Jurassic Park role.

She shared the hilarious anecdote on Jimmy Kimmel Live in January, recalling being at a friend’s ranch in Oahu where she filmed the original Jurassic Park (1993).

“I just came from their farm and there’s a tour of ‘the sights of Jurassic Park’ with a little sign that says ‘Welcome to Jurassic Park.’ And while I was after the beach and seeing our friends, we got in the car, and I was standing right in front of the sign, and here comes a group of people.”

‘This girl comes running up to me and says, “Oh, my God! Oh, my God!” I was like… “I just want to be with my family, let’s not do a whole Jurassic Park [thing]” said the star.

“She says, ‘Aren’t you the girl in the Taylor Swift video?'” Dern called the experience “amazing.”

She was also excited about working with Swift, who directed the video and played Cinderella, alongside Dern, the evil stepmother, and the Haim sisters as the stepsisters.

Swift also previously raved about Dern, calling her “the coolest” for agreeing to be in the video.

The singer joked that she got Dern to appear in the video by telling her that she had written a one-scene script in which the actress would call her a “tired, clingy girl” during her appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon in the lead role in October. .
