By means of The Eras TourSwift – who is dating a boyfriend Joe Alwyn since 2017 — will play 52 shows in the United States, culminating in five nights at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles in August 2023. However, getting tickets for the tour became quite a challenge for celebrities and fans alike. After Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan presale – which saw fans waiting in virtual queues for hours hoping to get their hands on tickets – the company decided announced via Twitter on November 17, 2022, that general sale of the tour was canceled the next day due to “extremely high demands”.
Swift expressed her disappointment with the situation in a lengthy post through her Instagram Story on Nov. 18, 2022. “Well. It goes without saying that I am extremely protective of my fans. We’ve been doing this together for decades and over the years I’ve brought in so many elements of my career. I did this SPECIFICALLY to improve the quality of my fans’ experience by doing it myself with my team who care about my fans as much as I do,” the “All Too Well” singer wrote at the time. “It’s really hard for me to trust an outside entity with these relationships and allegiances, and unbearable for me to see mistakes happen without recourse.”
Subsequently, Swift stated that Ticketmaster claimed they could handle the expected high demand, and Swift concluded her post on an optimistic note: “And for those who didn’t get tickets, I can only say that I hope to provide more opportunities for us to all come together and sing these songs. Thank you for joining us. You have no idea how much that means.”
