The Living Room co-host Barry Du Bois faces six months in jail after being charged with driving with a suspended license.
The TV lifestyle guru and designer, who has been battling cancer for several years, appeared before Waverly Local Court with his lawyer on Tuesday.
Police allege the 63-year-old TV star was caught around 8:30am on May 17 by officers from the Eastern Suburbs Highway Patrol in the suburb of Bondi, where he lives.
Court documents show the driving charge is the first facing the father-of-two, who has yet to enter a plea.
If convicted, the TV presenter and Cancer Council of Australia ambassador faces a prison sentence of up to six months, under NSW traffic laws.

Mr. Du Bois is best known for co-hosting Channel 10’s lifestyle show The Living Room for the past decade, where he hosted the show’s refurbishment segment.
The cast said goodbye to fans last year after a year-long hiatus, with the show’s future still in doubt.
The news comes as Mr Du Bois continues to battle cancer, which resurfaced in 2017 after a decade-long battle.

He told the Adelaide Advertiser in March that we were determined to fight the blood cancer.
“I have searched, and am still searching, for any advantage I can find to give me an extra second, an extra day, maybe a week or even a month with my children and this beautiful life I have been given, ‘ he said.
Mr Du Bois also made a surprise run for the Senate as an independent in the 2023 federal election.
He withdrew from the race after deciding that his “health and family come first.”
