Australia's prime minister attended the men's final of the Australian Open at Melbourne Park on Sunday evening, but the attendance was so large he wasn't even the most famous person in attendance.

Anthony Albanese, fresh from a tough week of being scrutinized for his 'broken promise' on Stage 3 tax cuts, was joined by his girlfriend Jodie Haydon to watch Jannik Sinner take on Daniil Medvedev.

Also present for the tennis showdown was Deborra-Lee Furness, who appeared engrossed in the game as she sat next to fellow actor and long-time friend Simon Baker.

The 68-year-old looked dapper in a white shirt over a simple T-shirt and appeared in good spirits.

She exchanged several sassy comments with Simon, 54, with the pair laughing at one point during the match.
