The White Lotus could go Down Under if series creator Mike White has his way.

The 52-year-old teased plans for a possible Australian edition of the hit series during a press conference at Sydney’s Vivid Festival this week.

“My dream would be to reach every continent, so yes, this is basically its own continent,” he said.

“If we want to continue, we should actually come to Australia. It would be so much fun. ‘

He added: ‘There is clearly a huge wealth of talent here and the beauty is undeniable so it feels like it ticks all the boxes’.

Mike went on to explain that if the series decided to film a season one prequel, beloved Australian actor Murray Bartlett, who played hotel manager Armond, could return to the show.

“I definitely think that’s possible, we just talked about that,” he said, adding that Jennifer Coolidge, who was killed off in season two, could be back for a prequel as well.

‘It’s a funny idea. And making Jennifer, you know, 20 years younger, that would be nice too. We can get Murray Bartlett back,’ Mike said.

While a fourth season could reach Australia, after seasons in Hawaii and Italy, The White Lotus will reportedly play its third season in Thailand.

White, the creator and sole writer and director of the hit HBO series, has been exploring the Southeast Asian nation for the past few weeks, multiple sources said. Variety.

Jackass star Johnny Knoxville – a friend of White – previously sparked speculation that her show could be set in Tokyo after saying the two had spent some time in the metropolis, though it appears White’s real focus is elsewhere in Asia lay.

White had previously teased that the season would be set in Asia, and he dropped Japan, though it’s unclear if his focus shifted or if Thailand had long been the target location.

HBO has declined to comment on the location.

So far, no details about the third season’s cast have been announced, although it will likely feature a largely new roster of stars.

However, the second season featured recurring characters played by Jon Gries and Jennifer Coolidge.

“I definitely think that’s possible, we were just talking about that,” he said, adding that Jennifer Coolidge (pictured), who was killed off in season two, could also return for a prequel

The previous two seasons were set in fictional White Lotus hotels, but they were shot on the grounds of Four Seasons hotels in Hawaii and Sicily.

Variety noted that the luxury hotel chain has four locations across Thailand: Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Koh Samui and the Golden Triangle.

The outlet noted that the various locations are in the city, in the countryside, in the lush jungle and in a beautiful beach location, giving White plenty of options to land his next season.

White telegraphed an Asian location by hinting that the next season would be about “death and eastern religion and spirituality” during a post-episode interview on HBO Max.

“In the first season it was about money, and in the second season it was about sex,” says the actor, writer and director.

“I think maybe the third season would be a satirical and funny take on death and eastern religion and spirituality. It feels like it could be a rich tapestry to do another round at White Lotus,” he said.

The first season won 10 Emmy awards and cleared out multiple other award shows.

Among those honored was two-time star Jennifer Coolidge, who is good friends with White.

The interest in the first season helped revitalize her career, leading to her triumphant return in the second season, along with a Primetime Emmy Award, a Golden Globe, and two Screen Actors Guild Awards.
