Tragedy after a swimmer drowns at Broadbeach on the Gold Coast
A swimmer drowned at a popular beach today.
The man disappeared in the surf at the south end of Broadbeach in Queensland.
Rescuers searched for the man and pulled him unconscious from the water around 1:30 p.m.

They began CPR until Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics arrived on scene to take over.
The man, in his sixties, died at the scene.
The police prepare a report for the coroner.
