Travelers criticize airline passengers for their biggest pet peeve: “Since when did this etiquette end?”

Social media users have shamed people who indulge in their “biggest pet peeve” while traveling.

According to a collection of videos from TikTok, this is their failure to leave planes row by row, instead rushing to the plane’s exit immediately, rather than waiting their turn.

Among the videos demonstrating this behavior that have gone viral is one by Boston-based content creator Mikayla, who goes by the username @mickeyyyt.

The short one clamp shows Mikayla still sitting in her row next to her friend, after the plane lands.

She pans the camera to show a line of people standing in the aisle, blocking them in their seats.

According to TikTok’s creator known as @mickeyyyt (pictured), many people don’t follow plane exit etiquette

This line appears to extend beyond their row and extend all the way to the rear of the aircraft.

Mikayla looks disappointed as she turns the camera on herself, while her friend shakes her head in disappointment as the camera pans towards her.

Finally, the camera pans back to Mikayal, who is shaking her own head and trapped in her seats thanks to the long line of people queuing in the middle of the plane.

Words superimposed on the screen over the footage in the short video read, “Since when does airplane etiquette of getting off the plane row by row end!?!?!”

In a simple caption to the short clip, she added, “Aren’t we all going to the same place?!?!”

The video has been viewed a whopping 2.4 million times, suggesting the topic struck a chord with many TikTok users.

Some shared their thoughts on the topic, with the clip generating a whopping 6,547 comments, with one describing the behavior in the video as their “biggest pet peeve.”

Another wrote: ‘I get out when it’s my fight! I will stand before them.’

And a third added: ‘Serious. They stand there for 10 minutes. Right now I just sit there until they’re all gone so I don’t have to fight my way through people.’

However, not everyone agreed, with some flyers saying they had never seen people get out in driving order.

One of them explained, “I’ve never seen the plane get out row by row.”

Meanwhile, another seemed surprised by the expectation that passengers would depart in order of their seats.

They explained, “I’ve never seen it go row by row. It also does not go row by row on board. So I don’t know why people expect this. Push your way in or wait patiently.’
