I converted my garage into a studio – the rent is much cheaper and there is more space
A WOMAN has shown people around the garage she has converted into a studio apartment.
Brittany Eakes took to social media to show off her new home, outfitted with a working fireplace and walk-in closet.

She said, “I'm going to give you a tour of how I turned my garage into a bedroom.”
The spacious garage could fit a huge double bed, sofa, TV stand, fireplace and walk-in wardrobe and still provide plenty of floor space.
Brittany then walked to the corner of the room, revealing the vanity she had created.
It included a large desk for her to get ready on, a cute fluffy gray rug, and a large mirror so she could check her outfits before heading out the door.

On the side of her dressing table she has her living room.
She had a beautiful blue velvet couch and a huge beanbag at the end so she could lie down and watch TV.
To give it a more homely feel, she decorated the walls with plants and wall art.
On the opposite wall was her TV stand, which also had a built-in electric fireplace that kept her warm.
Brittany revealed that it gets quite cold in the garage in the winter, so the fireplace was essential, as was having lots of extra blankets.
On the side she had an extra rod for clothes and a shoe rack to make extra space for her closet.
“I don't really have a lot of room in my garage for my clothes,” she explained.
She then created a feature wall with some faux ivy and a 'BE HAPPY' sign to make it extra cozy.
In the middle of the room was Brittany's huge double bed, to the right of the bed was a door that Brittany had turned into her walk-in closet.
“I actually built those two poles with a hacksaw, which I'm very proud of. I did it all by myself,” she added.
The wardrobe has two more curtain rails and a large chest of drawers for most of her clothes.
She then showed viewers the best of her garage, saying, “The best part of my garage is this little screen so if I leave the door open, no bugs can get in.”
In the comments section, Brittany revealed why she moved into the garage even though the house has three bedrooms.
She said she has three roommates who took over the bedrooms and she went with the garage so they could split the rent even more cheaply among themselves.
“My other three roommates live in the rooms of the house. Doing it this way lowers the rent and gives everyone their own room,” she explained.
The clip quickly went viral on her TikTok account @brittanyinberlin with over 1 million views and 100,000 likes.
Many people responded to the comments being impressed with what she had done with the garage.
One person wrote: “That's actually a good idea for a creative room. I've never seen anyone do this before.”
Another commented: “It looks like one small studio I love.”
“I would love to have a room like that,” wrote a third.
Meanwhile, a fourth said: “Wow, it looks absolutely beautiful, you're smart.”
“Looks amazing,” claimed a fifth.
Someone else added: “I love it, I've wanted to do this forever.”
