An Uber fit for a king: Ride-sharing service launches stunning horse-drawn coronation carriage

Royal fans can get into the spirit of the coronation by booking an Uber ride with a difference: a horse-drawn carriage that resembles the king’s mode of transport on the day he is crowned.

The Coronation carriage will run from May 3 to May 5 in South London’s Dulwich Park and slots are bookable through the Uber app.

Each of the four white horses that pull the carriage will be dressed up, adding to the regal look of the carriage.

The coronation chariot, made by Stunts by Steve Dentjoins Uber’s ever-growing portfolio of travel methods, including Uber Boat, National Rail travel, Eurostar, coach and car rentals.

The ‘beautifully decorated carriage’ has been ‘lovingly crafted using designs from previous royal carriages’, giving riders the chance to ride in the kind of luxury normally afforded only to the highest ranks of the British monarchy.

Uber said: “Each of the four white horses pulling the carriage will be dressed in their finest coronation robes to complement the striking and regal appearance of the carriage and the carriage will be adorned with figurines, just like the carriage that King Charles III will be. driving in for the formal celebration, to the delight of millions of viewers from around the world.

“Uber’s Coronation Carriage is outfitted with plush seats, embroidered cushions and throws to ensure Uber customers feel like royalty throughout the experience.”

The announcement of the Coronation Carriage follows research from Uber showing that nearly half of Britons (48 per cent) say they would like to experience the grandeur of a horse-drawn carriage.

According to the survey, 51 percent of Britons will celebrate the coronation, while nearly a third (29 percent) plan to be in London the week of the coronation.

To ride the Uber Coronation Carriage, go to Dulwich Park’s Carriage Drive entrance and the Coronation Carriage Concierge will book your trip through the app, “without you having to lift a finger,” Uber said.

A limited number of rides are available each day between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM.
