Washington DC: U.S. Secret Service agents opened fire after three people tried to break into an unmarked Secret Service vehicle occupied by President Joe Biden’s granddaughter, Naomi Biden, in Georgetown, Washington, D.C.

The officers, who were assigned to protect Naomi Biden, saw the three people smash a window of the parked and unoccupied SUV. One of the officers opened fire, but no one was hit by the gunfire. The three people were seen fleeing in a red car, and the Secret Service said it had sent a regional bulletin to the Metropolitan Police to be on the lookout, according to a report by India TV.

Carjacking incidents in Washington, DC

The number of carjackings in Washington DC has skyrocketed this year, with more than 750 incidents reported to date. This represents a significant increase from last year, when there were only 200 carjackings in the district.
