Uttar Pradesh News: In a shocking incident, a man allegedly cut off the hand of his alleged girlfriend in a village in Unnao district of Uttar Pradesh after coming to know that the woman’s family had arranged her marriage with another man.

According to police, the incident took place on Tuesday evening when the suspect, Rinku, asked the 20-year-old victim to meet him at a secluded place in the village. “An argument broke out between the alleged lovers and Rinku, in a fit of rage, attacked the young woman with a farmer’s trowel and chopped off her left hand,” an official said.

After the incident, Rinku was arrested by the police and booked under relevant sections of the law, while the victim was admitted to hospital and her condition has been stabilized, Circle Officer Arvind Kumar told news agency PTI on Wednesday.

“Rinku was arrested a few hours after the incident. We have filed an FIR in the matter and initiated investigation,” CO Kumar said.

According to local media reports, Rinku and the victim were in a relationship, but recently the girl’s family had resolved her marriage with another man, leaving the suspect angry with his alleged lover as he blamed her for not standing up against her parents. and supporting their relationship.

On Tuesday evening, Rinku called her to a secluded spot on the outskirts of the village, where the couple was engaged in a heated argument over the issue, they said, adding that Rinku had hacked her with a farmer’s trowel and chopped off her left hand during the skirmish. hand.

They said the victim was admitted to a local hospital where she was being treated.

Police have arrested the suspect and registered an FIR against him under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), adding that further investigation in the case is underway.
