Victoria Beckham has a funny reaction about becoming a grandmother

Victoria Beckham is not yet ready for grandchildren.

The Spice Girls singer, 49, was asked if she was “excited” to become a grandmother during an interview with Fashion published on Friday, February 16.

“Jesus. What?! Wow. Wait a minute. I don't think it's happening right now. Unless you guys know something I don't, it's not happening yet,” Victoria hilariously replied, acting nervous at the question.

Victoria and husband David Beckham's eldest child, son Brooklyn24, married to Nicola Peltz in April 2022. While Victoria isn't ready to welcome the next generation, she acknowledged that she is excited about the prospect and has even thought about what her grandchildren might one day call her. (Victoria and David also share sons Romeo, 21, and Cruz, 18, and daughter Harper, 12.)

“The last time I was along [Vogue editor] Anna [Wintour] I thought, 'Anna, what do your grandchildren call you?' And she said to me, 'Anna.' And I thought, that's very elegant, so maybe I'll take that route,” Victoria said. “But it's not happening yet. But you know, if I'm blessed one day, hopefully that would be great. But we're not there yet!”

The British native jokingly added: “Jesus, it's hot, guys. It is hot here! What is going on?!”

Although Victoria and David have proven to have a strong relationship during their nearly 25 years of marriage, the fashion designer admitted that she is careful not to give unsolicited advice when asked if she has given tips to her newlywed son.

“I think you just have to be there for them,” Victoria said. “Communication is key and be there to support them, support him and Nicola. I don't like to give advice. I'm always just there. Me and David, we're always there.”

Although the Beckhams look like the perfect couple, they have been candid about the ups and downs that come with sharing a life in the spotlight together. “The thing is, we were against each other, if I'm completely honest,” Victoria said during the limited series. “Until Madrid it sometimes felt like we were against everyone, but we were together, we were connected, we had each other. But when we were in Spain, it didn't really feel like we had each other. And that is sad.”

David also opened up about the “incredibly difficult” time he saw his wife “hurt.”

“Victoria is everything to me,” he said. “But we are fighters and at that time we had to fight for each other. We had to fight for our family. And what we had was worth fighting for.”
