The Ram Lalla idol was placed in the sanctum sanctorum of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir on Thursday afternoon amid chanting of prayers and loud 'Jai Shri Ram' slogans.

Inauguration of Ram Mandir: A newly crafted 51-inch Ram Lalla idol was installed at the sanctum sanctorum of Ayodhya Ram Mandir on Thursday afternoon, days ahead of the 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony scheduled to take place on January 22.

The majestic idol of Lord Ram, sculpted by Mysuru-based sculptor Arun Yogiraj, was taken to the Ram Janmabhoomi temple last night and placed grabha griha, said Arun Dixit, one of the priests who will participate in the ordination ceremony on Monday. .

According to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, the Ram Lalla idol was placed in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple amid chanting of prayers.

Consecration of Ram Mandir

The Ram Temple's 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony will take place on January 22. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the installation of Ram Lalla's idol at the grand temple on the day. Meanwhile, the rituals started on Thursday and will last for seven days.

Thousands of VIP guests have received invitations from the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust for the ceremony. The Trust has made elaborate arrangements to welcome and honor all attendees by presenting them with gifts including 'Ram Raj'. As part of the celebration, Teerth Kshetra Trust will also distribute special 'Motichoor laddus' made from desi ghee as 'Prasad' to the guests.

A member of the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust said Modi, who will attend the event, will be presented with a 50-foot-long photo of the Ram temple enclosed in a gunny bag with an image of the sacred structure.

More than 11,000 guests from across the country have received invitations from the Trust for the Pran Pratishtha ceremony, and special arrangements have been made to present memorable gifts to all attendees.

According to a member of the Trust, the revered Ram Raj soil excavated from the temple will be gifted to the guests and serve as a cherished memento.

This sacred gift can be used in the vegetable garden or in pots, adding a touch of divinity to their home. Even those who cannot attend the Pran Pratishtha program can receive this meaningful gift in the future.

A team of priests led by Lakshmikant Dixit will perform the main rituals of the Pran Pratishtha.

PM observes 'Anusthan'

Prime Minister Modi, who is about to inaugurate the grand Ram temple in Ayodhya, observes all the rituals during his 11-day 'anusthan' ahead of the 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony on January 22. According to reports, Prime Minister Modi, who started the special ritual on January 12, sleeps on the floor and survives on a strict diet consisting of only coconut water.

According to officials, during the 'anusthan', the Prime Minister strictly adheres to 'Yam Niyam' as enshrined in the scriptures and fasts while drinking only coconut water for sustenance during this period. The Prime Minister also observes strict fines during the eleven-day period.
