Is Internet Streamed TV Worth It?

Analysis by Jamie Harris, Senior Technology and Science Reporter at The Sun

Internet-streamed TV is seen as the future, but it may take some time before people make the switch.

People are quite used to watching TV via the internet or data on their phones, but giving up the television in the living room still has a long way to go.

Sky has Sky Glass and Sky Stream, Virgin has its own Stream and there is also a free competitor coming onto the market, Freely from the makers of Freeview, launching in a few months.

Internet-streamed TV has a number of advantages: it is a lot easier to set up yourself, fewer cables when using Wi-Fi and more freedom over where you place your TV.

The downside is what do you expect if your broadband goes down – which is still common – or if the connection is slow? There is also a slight delay in the live broadcast compared to usual aerial, cable or satellite TV – this shouldn't pose a major problem, but if you are watching a live football match you may hear a few seconds before you hear the broadcast receives cheers from the neighbors. to see the action.
