New Delhi: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced a water cut in several parts of Mumbai to facilitate inspection of the Malabar Hill reservoir. The Mumbai Water Cut has been announced for Thursday, December 7, 2023 in multiple areas of South Mumbai division. Municipal officials said the tank will be partially emptied on Thursday for inspection of the second compartment of the reservoir. A panel of experts will conduct the inspection. During this inspection it is determined whether the reservoir can be repaired or must be demolished. Read more to know the affected areas and timings of the water cut.

Water cut in these areas of Mumbai

As mentioned earlier, the BMC has announced a water cut for Thursday, December 7, 2023. The inspection causing the water cut will impact the many parts of South Mumbai that receive water from this Malabar Hill Reservoir, including Ward A, C, D. , G/North and G/South. The affected areas also include Cuffe Parade, Ambedkar Nagar and Nariman Point.

Mumbai Water Cut: Check the timing

The civic body, by releasing a graph, announced that the water decline in different parts of the wards will be between 10 and 30 percent. However, residents of Ward A’s Cuffe Parade and Ambedkar Nagar will experience a complete water cut between 11.20 am and 1.45 pm. Areas like Nariman Point will have a 50 percent water cut between 1:45 PM and 3:00 PM. BMC has also said in its bulletin that apart from the water cuts, water pressure will also be very low in some areas.

Public holiday in Mumbai

Today, December 6, has been declared a public holiday in Mumbai to mark the death anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar, who is also known as the Mahaparinirvan Din. On this holiday, all educational institutions i.e. both schools and colleges remain closed today in Mumbai city and its suburbs; In addition to the educational institutions, the offices also remain closed. The circular states that this notice is applicable to both government and non-government offices in the suburbs and Mumbai city.
