The long white dress has transparent, flowing sleeves and is embroidered with an elegant leaf pattern.

On Mumsnet she said: “I'm thinking of wearing this to my wedding.

'My boyfriend thinks it makes me considerably older.

“The wedding will be informal and quiet.”

She added: “Why is it so hard to find a dress.

“I feel like it should be damn easy, they're all beautiful.

“I just think a full dress is too much.”

The woman then described herself as 6 feet tall, “with a small bust and a chubbier hourglass shape than I would like.”

She said she liked the Coast dress and thought it looked good on her.

The woman added that she had also seen an £1,800 wedding dress, which she loved, but said she could not justify the cost.

I got married in a £46 Zara dress. I was so nervous and cried like a baby… but it was the perfect day

The bride-to-be then asked Mumsnet users how old they thought someone wearing the Coast dress would be, and whether it would suit her.

Mumsnet users flooded the answers section with their thoughts.

One user said: “Honestly it could be anything from 18 and hippie to 80 and covering their arms.

“Is it your style? Do you love it? And is this friend really a friend or is he just forcing his taste on you?”

Another user added: “Not so much a matter of age, but rather a matter of 'figure'.

“You would have to be tall, petite and slim to wear it, in my opinion.

“I can't imagine a woman under 35 wearing it either because it's a bit frumpy.

“I think most smaller women – 5'10 and under” look a bit stupid.

“Personally I wouldn't wear it. (I'm 1.80m tall and a size 16).

“You're 6 feet tall though, so you'll be fine.”

“Wear what you feel good in and don't worry about clothes aging you when you're only 37!”
