A WEDDING guest is brutally caught after showing off the ‘main character energy’ dress she planned to wear.

If you’ve ever attended a wedding, you know how stressful it can be to find the perfect outfit. So one woman took to Reddit to see what others thought of her dress.

According to the guest, whose boyfriend was one of the groomsmen at the ceremony, she was obsessed with the dress but wasn’t quite sure if it was suitable for a wedding.

The woman shared a photo of the maxi dress, she wrote the recent message: ”I am in love with this dress, but I don’t know if it is suitable.”

The outfit – which she had assured would adhere to the ‘formal’ dress code – was a sheer nude dress with beautiful black floral detailing throughout the material.

Underneath the top maxi top layer, which flowed at the bottom, was a figure-hugging mini dress that sat around the mid-thigh.

The beautiful lace dress was finished with so-called spaghetti straps and a deep V-neck, which really shows off the model’s cleavage.

The fashionista, who said she “wished” there was another color option, added in the comments: “My boyfriend will be wearing a tuxedo because he’s part of the bridal party.”

But unfortunately for the style enthusiast, the clothing choice was quickly criticized and criticized brutally by fellow Redditors, who flocked to the comments to share their thoughts.

One said: ‘I don’t think that’s it, sorry. Maybe a dress with more black would be better?

“And a less visible lining would be a big improvement.”

Meanwhile, others thought the gown was a bit too OTT, as someone else wrote: ”No. Too much energy from the main character. You are not the bride. ”

I paid £31 for my wedding dress from Shein and it is stunning

“Black on black would be okay, but as depicted, a hard ‘no,'” someone else chimed in.

After other social media users stated this, the wedding guest – who subsequently agreed that the dress was ‘not appropriate’ – revealed that she would continue her search for the perfect outfit.

She wrote, “I needed confirmation from some other people that this is actually too much and that I’m not just thinking about it like I tend to do. Unfortunately I won’t make it.”

Bridal expert reveals the must-have trends for 2024

Event expert Tsitsi Lynn Makuni claimed that mini dresses, wearing bows to tie the knot and donning bold accessories are among this season’s wedding must-haves, The Sun previously reported.

CALL THE CHANGES – brides choose not one, but two dresses.

HOOK UP THE SKIRTS – short dresses were a big hit on the October Catwalk of the Scottish Wedding Show and Tsitsi said more and more bridal boutiques are now offering shorter styles.

BRIGHT NOT WHITE – White and ivory dresses are no longer a given as more and more designers offer pastel options, and we will also see a demand for bolder colours.

Be brave – The accessories will also be just as striking as our dresses. Expect dramatic headbands, pearl-embellished veils, elegant gloves and retro sunglasses.

TO MAKE A BOW – From small bows on headpieces and shoes to oversized bows on dresses, this is a wedding trend that shows no signs of slowing down, the expert revealed.

While the black lace number may not be the right choice for the ceremony, the woman chuckled and admitted that she was still eyeing it — and that she might buy the dress for another occasion.

”I may or may not get an email alert for when the price drops below $150 [£118].”

While this may vary from wedding to wedding, in the Western world it is generally an unwritten rule that a wedding guest cannot wear a white outfit on someone else’s big day.

Unless the bride has specifically asked guests to use light – and even white – colors, this is usually considered in poor taste as some may assume you are trying to steal the spotlight.
