My wife had plastic surgery and looks ‘weird’, now I am not attracted to her

A distraught man discovered he was no longer attracted to his wife after her facial plastic surgery.

Even after his wife was completely healed from her procedures, he couldn’t help but feel that she looked “weird.”

The Anonymous Redditor u/OkInevitable7692 shared his marital problems in a post.

He explained that his wife had lip fillers, a neck lift and buccal fat removal done even though he was against it.

“She’s giving me an uncanny valley feeling right now. It’s driving me crazy. She’s completely healed now. She wants us to get back to normal,” he wrote.

Although he has tried to grant her wish by initiating sex, he admitted that when he did, he made sure there was as little light in the room as possible.

‘It’s been a few months and I’m a little dreading having to look at her. Obviously she noticed,” he continued.

“She’s bugging me to tell her what’s going on. I tried telling her that I’m just tired from work. Or that I’m exhausted. Actually everything but the truth.’

After his wife noticed his behavioral changes, she accused him of having an affair.

“She asked if she could look at my phone. I unlocked it for her and handed it over. I wasn’t worried about her finding anything because there’s nothing there,” he said.

The two had an argument, during which he revealed the truth.

“I wasn’t harsh or brutally honest. I just told her that I didn’t find her new face attractive and that I was turning away. She asked if that’s why I’m turning off all the lights now. I said yes,” he said.

“She started crying and said she needed time for herself. She went to stay with her sister.”

Although the man is called almost “every name in the book” by his wife’s family and friends, he doesn’t believe he’s necessarily wrong.

“I’ve tried not to say anything. I can’t force myself to find her attractive. I still love her, but her face is just weird now. She looks like the blue alien from The Fifth Element,” he said.

When his wife returned home, she revealed that her family had convinced her to perform surgery.

“They convinced her that she was starting to look old and that if she didn’t do anything, I would find someone else to be with, so her mother gave her the money for the operations,” he said.

“Her mother and sister look like Bruce Campbell in Escape From LA. They are the very last people on earth who should tell anyone to get plastic surgery.”

Although his wife offered to “reverse” the operations, he insisted he just needed a little more time.

“The last thing I want is for her to mess up her face even more than it already is. I asked her if she could please just leave it and let me get used to it,” he said.

The two decided to enroll in marriage counseling and temporarily prevent her family from having control over their life decisions.

Most of all, the man redoubled his efforts to make his wife feel appreciated.

“I’m going to do my best to show her every day that I still find her desirable and she will do my best to believe me when I tell her I love her just the way she is,” he said.
