Young man killed when car crashed into pole in Fitzroy North, Melbourne

A man, 22, has died after his car crashed into a pole in Melbourne.
Emergency services were called to the scene on St Georges Rd in Fitzroy North at around 11.30pm on Wednesday.
Police believe the vehicle crashed into the pole, rolled and eventually stopped in front of a church.
The young man was the only one in the car and died on the spot.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
St George’s Road remains closed in both directions between Reid and Church Street.
Streetcars on Route 11 were also affected by the accident.
