JLS star Aston Merrygold and his wife Sarah-Louise have shared a sweet video montage of their family and friends’ reactions to their pregnancy reveal.

Aston and Sarah-Lou announced they were expecting their third child in September with another Instagram video in which their two sons Grayson, five, and Macaulay, three, found out.

Now the couple, who have started their own YouTube channel The Merrygold Family, have shared their loved ones’ reactions.

‘The one with the reactions!! The nicest reactions to the best news!!!’ Aston captioned the video, adding: ‘3rd child captured our friends and family’s reactions for the first time! To enjoy.’

Among those told the happy news were Aston’s bandmate Marvin Humes and his wife Rochelle, who were filmed jumping up and down for joy and shouting “I knew it!”

Rochelle shared the video on her own Instagram page and joked: “Why am I that friend?”

The video starts with Aston and his wife showing ultrasound photos of their son as the boys say they want a sister, before quickly changing their minds to a brother.

The couple’s pregnancy news comes a year after Aston insisted he couldn’t handle more than two children and ruled out having any more – despite calling fatherhood “the best job ever” and claiming fatherhood would give him “a new purpose in life’.

He said: ‘[Being a dad is the] best thing ever. Best job ever. It gives me reason to get up.’ However, when asked if he plans to have more children, he replied: ‘No. I can’t chase three. Two is good for me.’

Aston discussed his children further earlier this year when he revealed why he would warn his young children against signing up for a TV talent show like The X Factor.

The JLS singer, 35, told MailOnline that if his sons aspired to follow in his footsteps by pursuing a music career, he would highlight the pros and cons, including the public’s assessment, which he describes as “difficult to please’.

After finding fame on Simon Cowell’s show at the age of 18, Aston said he was criticized for his appearance and even the way he spoke.

Aston explained that he would educate his children on the downsides of fame and that he is often judged harshly by the public, saying: ‘The hardest thing is to please the public because it is a quirky affair’ .

“That’s why if our guys ever turned to us and said they wanted to do a show like that, they have to understand that not everyone has good things to say or likes what they do, how they look or speak, and As long as they’re okay with people having an opinion, then they will be strong enough and self-aware.

‘If you don’t work hard, it will work against you. You come into the industry and someone has seen your talent and thought, ‘I’m going to give them a chance’ and then you have to work hard for your team and deliver performances and rehearsals.

“I was 18 when we started this experience and the fact that Marvin had already experienced the industry with the band he was previously in, DS, and he was the oldest… Marvin sat me down and was a shoulder to lean on to cry… it was nice that he took care of me.’

Aston and his former dancer Sarah are determined not to pressure their sons to follow a certain path, even taking the eldest Grayson out of Sylvia Young’s theater school because they deemed it ‘too strict’ for his age.

Aston said: ‘We see a lot of potential in our children to have similar careers to us.

‘You get outside comments from friends and family and everyone saying ‘Wow’, especially about Grayson, he sings a lot better than I ever did at that age and it’s a bit like ‘okay… possibly this is the way you might go’ .’

‘Grayson attended Sylvia Young’s theater school for a while and that was fun, but too strict for his age. At this stage it should be purely fun. If he’s good now, he’ll still be good in ten years.

“Right now we refuse to put them in an environment that is not fun. Sarah has been training in dance since she was young, as they are now, and it is difficult.”

‘Pushy parents need to change into supportive parents. We prefer to protect them.’
