Revealed: the largest airport in the world – the same size as NYC!

A TikToker revealed the three largest airports in the world, the largest of which is the same size as New York City.

According to @dtvaldez353The largest airport is King Fahd International Airport in Saudi Arabia.

King Fahd International Airport covers “an incredible 301.5 square miles,” “eight times the size of Paris.”

The other two airports @dtvaldez353 discussed in the TikTok video are Denver International Airport in Colorado and Istanbul International Airport in Turkey.

King Fahd International Airport, also known as Dammam International Airport, is named after King and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Fahd bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

The airport’s website states that the location ‘is the gateway to a region with more than four million inhabitants.’

The airport hosts 37 airlines that can take passengers to 43 different destinations worldwide.

It serves more than ten million passengers a year and fliers can come to the airport by car, taxi or bus.

King Fahd International Airport also offers VIP services such as airport transfers with special vehicles and lounges.

There are two VIP lounges: Tashrefat and Tanfeethi.

The Tashrefat offers meet and greet services for passengers seeking assistance with baggage drop-off and expedited security and immigration procedures.

Tangfeethi, or The Executive Office, is a lounge exclusively for passengers traveling to and from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

In addition to airlines, the airport offers six floors of amenities such as restaurants, shops and car rentals.

A unique feature of Denver International Airport is the gabled roof Jeppesen Terminal.

The roof was designed by Fentress Bradburn Architects to reflect the snow-capped mountains in Colorado.

The shape of the roof was also designed to honor Colorado’s history when Native American teepees were located in the Great Plains.

Istanbul International Airport in Turkey may sound like the largest airport as it offers flights to over 350 destinations in 110 countries.

However, it is only almost 30 square kilometers in size and has one terminal building, despite still being ‘a gateway between Europe and Asia’.

Istanbul International Airport is home to several restaurants and even includes art galleries and a prayer room.

The location is getting bigger every day because it is under construction.

When construction is completed, the Turkish airport will have four terminal buildings and six runways and is expected to accommodate more than 200 million passengers by 2025.

Several TikTok users are not happy with the video, despite the facts about each airport.

@dtvaldez353 stated that Istanbul was the third largest airport in the world.

A TikToker noticed this Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Malaysia is actually the third largest, and according to AFAR magazine, the user’s correction is correct.

The Malaysian airport covers 39 square kilometers, which is almost ten more than Istanbul International.

Another airport cited by users was Beijing Daxing International Airport in China, which some suggested was larger than all the airports mentioned.

The South China Morning Post reported differently, stating that the airport is only 30 square kilometers in size, but has the largest terminal in the world.

Other TikTokers wrote about their own experiences at other airports in Amsterdam and Atlanta.

“The Atlanta Georgia airport is huge,” one TikTok user wrote.

“Amsterdam Schiphol Airport really shocked me how BIG it is,” another TikToker wrote.

‘It took 40 minutes to walk at full speed between the connecting flight gates, and on the map they weren’t even that far apart.’
