‘British’ tourist, 33, found dead by cleaning lady lying in a pool of blood with head wound in holiday apartment in Gran Canaria
A tourist – reportedly British – was found dead in a pool of blood by a cleaner at a holiday apartment in Gran Canaria on Monday.
The unnamed holidaymaker, 33, is said to have suffered serious head injuries at the British holiday hotspot.

The tourist was found dead on Monday around 12.30 pm in the Colina Mar apartment complex in the seaside resort Puerto Rico in the municipality of Mogan in the south of the island.
He is said to have suffered a head injury from a blow or fall.
A Civil Guard source said last night: “There were signs of violence but the autopsy results are still pending.”
Police said last night that they could not confirm his nationality because a judge had imposed a confidentiality order on the case to protect the ongoing investigation.
Local conflicting reports describe the man as a British or Irish holidaymaker.
A cleaning lady raised the alarm after finding the lifeless man’s body when she tried to enter the apartment.
A male friend with whom he is believed to have traveled to the island was also in the room when police arrived.
He is said to have been “completely disoriented”, amid unconfirmed claims that he may have been under the influence of drugs.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, despite paramedics’ attempts to revive him.
The island’s Civil Guard said last night that the secrecy order imposed on the case by a judge meant they could not make any official comment on the ongoing investigation.
The possibility that he could have died in an accident has not been ruled out, although initial reports indicate that his death is possible crime-related.

In nearby Lanzarote, an allegedly ‘drunk and drugged’ British driver is accused of mowing down and killing a tourist family killing a four-month-old baby.
British expat Olivia Brown23, was reportedly over the legal limit and under the influence of alcohol and drugs when her car mounted the sidewalk and struck two families last week.
She is charged with manslaughter and drunk driving, but had her hearing adjourned after she had a panic attack.
The hotel employee is currently under house arrest and could face prison time causing the death of Brit to Harper Ayton.
